May Z-Force Be With You
« on: January 12, 2017, 12:48:31 PM »
Hello. I just picked up my 2016 CF Moto Z force 800 trail base model yesterday from Paulson's Kawasaki in Lacey. I got it on sale for $7,999, about $9,500 out the door after tax, licensing all the other fees. I know they still had one more black one for that price (1/11/2017) when I left. As you can see in the following it just barely fit to back of my short bed truck. I don't have a garage to store it in so I ordered a 7 x 14 enclosed cargo trailer on and should have it in about a month.

After I got home and was riding it around in the driveway and checking things out. I leaned over from the drivers seat to adjust the passenger mirror and it broke right off. Bummer. It seemed a bit abnormal but maybe they were just made with some cheap plastic. When switching it into four-wheel-drive, it would go. The indicator light on the – dash didn't even come on. I tried it in neutral, park and low while stopped and still nothing. I had 4 x 4 selected and drove slowly turning left's and right to see if that would work and still nothing.. After messing with it for a while. I finally gave up and when I came back to it later in the day and tried it again. It worked. It does seem a bit clunky  and slow to respond though. Sometimes when I need to switch into the lock mode I don't want to have to be rolling in order to do so. But maybe I don't have a choice.

I love my new Z force, though. It's a step up for me from the Polaris Ace 570. Now I've got two seats so I can take a friend with me whether they have a machine or not.

See you on the trails!

Welcome and I think as things break in they will become easier. Mine started a little sluggish but now is as smooth as glass shifting in and out of 4wd.

Welcome.

I noticed a similar issue on 4WD operation when mine was new as well, but like NMK said it improved over time.

Another observation - it looks like you've already got something bracing your tailgate, but if not you may want to consider strengthening that gate if you'll be hauling much in the bed of your truck.  Hate to see your new toy go rolling down the road.

You guys were right. It seems to be consistently shifting responsively. No problems at all today on a 40 mile ride in the snow. I did get stuck a couple of times and had to winch myself out.
