Just bought a 2019 U force 800
« on: September 28, 2019, 10:00:51 AM »
Hello everyone.  So far I am really enjoying this machine.  It was the best equipped vehicle for the money I could find.  For some reason my dealer had this one in stock a long time.  Seems customers didn't like the color.  Orange.  I think it looks good.

Has anyone found a way to dim the back lighting on the digital display?  It is way too bright at night.

Congrats. I do believe I have heard that they now make that adjustable. I should be in your owner's manual.

Invest sooner than later in a good set of skid plates that cover the complete bottom. It will save you some grief down the road. I bought the Iron Baltic ones to replace the marginal CFMoto ones as I wanted a slippery UHMW bottom but there are some good aluminum ones out there as well. Welcome to the forum.

Welcome!  To adjust the brightness, scroll through the options with the left button on the dash until you get to one that shows 1-5 with increasing number of lines between them.  Then use the right button on the dash to change.  I found that even at lowest brightness it was still way too bright at night so I put a layer of 20% window tint over the whole cluster.  That took the sharp glare off it at night and is tolerable now.  Any more tint than that makes it hard to see in the daytime.

Congrats on the ride. I wish I could have found an orange one.

Thank you everyone.  I must have missed the part in the manual about dimming the display.  I appreciate the help.

I looked at the aftermarket skid plates available.  They seem like a better idea now that you mentioned it.  And the fact I have taken it over some rocks already.

I was surprised my dealer couldn't sell an orange one.  It is either orange or slate.  It is nice metal flake poly chromatic automotive type paint.  They knocked $2300 off list price because of the color.  Worked for me!

Congrats on your ride; enjoy.

REMEMBER: the engine for the u800 made a 180 degree turn ( just like the Z800 ). The vario is on the left side of the engine. The airflow to cool that down starts behind your seat; ends at the front of the machine. At the end IS NO SNORKEL!! Just a pipe 3 inch forward and than a 180 curve; ends right in front of the engine.
The hot air blows against the motor ( distance 1 inch !)
The vario will take water if you drive true a river, deeper than 1 foot at low speeds.
