Just arrrived 22 - UF1000
« on: June 03, 2022, 04:01:26 PM »
Hey all -

After almost a 5-month wait I just got a call form the dealership my 22 UF1000 came in today.  They are adding the bumpers, Nerf bars and turn signal kit and should be picking it up middle of next week.

Have a quick question form existing owners - is the $1,800 3 year pre-paid service plan worth the $$'s or better off doing pay as you go.  I used to work on things a lot but getting older and crawling around on the ground and busting knuckles is getting less appealing... but $1,800 seems like a lot of money for 3 years of PM.

Thanks all!

Welcome and congrats on the new U Force. I don't own one but it's been my experience that when I've shelled-out the extra coin for extra coverage...it was always a complete waste of money. My gut says: If you are an extreme rider..or one doesn't take care of his machine or one that puts 2,000 or more miles per year on his ride, then it's likely worth it. But if you are an average rider, riding average trails and you don't abuse your machine and ride in the 1,500 mile and less per year range, I think I would take my chances and take care of things as they came up...if they came up. Personally I am dead set against all extended warranties and fear based insurance. It's the highest profit part of sales these days and that means you are far more likely to pay far more in premiums than you ever have a chance to receive in awards.
If I were to add up the total of all the extended warranties I have declined, and never would have collected on had I bought them, I bet it would amount to a significant sum indeed. Instead that's still in my bank account. Still you have to go with your gut I suppose. :) Cheers
