Hello from Vermont
« on: August 23, 2020, 01:36:08 PM »
Purchased my used 2019 Zforce 800 trail last December and been riding as much as possible in Vermont and New Hampshire this spring and summer.  This is my first ATV and the more I learn, the more I realize there is to learn.  I'm 72 but don't let my age fool you.  I love the speed and challenge.

I have been following your threads on suspension setup and options available to improve ride and  maybe improve clearance.  I have managed to get a little better ride with just some tweaking.  I also had three rides where one or the other seatbelt failed to function.  So, as per your suggestion I ordered the three point harness from SuperATV and installed them.  We feel safer now.  Thanks for the tip.

That's great. Funny thing is that my wife hated them so she had me put the OE shoulder belt back in on her side. Even keeping it clean and lubed with dry lube it sometimes gives me fits....but..happy spouse, happy house..:)

My wife hasn't complained yet but, then again, her belt was one of the failures 🙄. A question.  We have some narrow trails where the 60 inch sxs are not allowed.  Could you squeeze in with your 53 inch or would that be allowed?  This is the main reason that I looked for the Trail model, but the spacers look nice.

Yes, you are OK and legal because the wheels are 50" to the outside. Yeah I know, the shoulder bars (at least on mine they were) make it 53" but you can get that by most posts...just close your eyes and grit your teeth. :) You could probably get by with some 1.5" spacers on the 50" trails but in my experience down here, they set those 50" posts are like 49"s and I can't get by with mine.

Hello from MA,
To pick your brain, I was wondering if there were any real long "carriage Road" type trails you'd be willing to share in VT,
Me and my 2 sons travel everywhere to ride, mostly day trips and Vermonts on my bucket list!
Thanks for the help.

Hi Paulp.  Being new at this sport I am still finding mountain trails in Vermont to ride.  Everything we have road on so far are interconnecting trails in different areas.  My wife and I were riding in Claremont, New Hampshire, a couple of weeks ago and there is a Sugar River Rail Trail that runs from Claremont to Newport.  We didn't ride on that one but it sounds like what you are looking for.  You can probably find out more information on the web.  Good luck!
