Good Morning Everybody,
I have always wanted to get a quad, but after seeing the used prices (which are ridiculous locally) I might as well get a new unit. Quads run as much as an UTV, so yeah! So I always wanted the RZR and been reading for a few years and the more I read the more I want an UTV. Now, as this might been discussed many times over and over, RZR are way over priced, so are canams and yamahas (kawasakis, I do not like) So I found out abot CFM last year actually, when my the dealer opened their doors here in El Paso. Went and looked at them and thought ot myself, another chinese POS. Well, after some more researching (yes, I research everything before I buy, even socks
) I have been leaning more towards the CFM. My only worry, is the parts availability of them, and also my local dealer does not have a good reputation either. So before I fork out 11k for the CFM (3k more I can get the rzr but without all of the accessories, 800, and if I add another 3k, I can get the turbo 1000cc they have a rebate) but now we are talking about 18k for a toy, too much if you ask me. There was this guy selling a Hisung and my God, what a POS! So what my questions are:
1. Parts availability
2. Overall stability and functionality
3. Warranty
I am mechanically inclined so I am not worried about getting some grease on my hands. What I am worried is that the unit that might get, will be a lemon and will have to go through the process that can take months to fix.
Now, before I finish, the sales person from CFM told me that CFM beat RZR in all sorts of events (which I could not find) and he also told me about RZR catching fire (pretty much bashing the RZR left and right, sales pitch right?) Well after reading, yes, there has been a couple of issues and recalls but that has been fixed. Was able to find a few used RZR (used from a dealer) for arounf 10k for a 800.
Too many questions and a lot of BS (I apologize). So there you go.
Thank you all for your help.
