Hello From Texas
« on: May 26, 2017, 09:58:32 AM »
Good Morning Everybody,

I have always wanted to get a quad, but after seeing the used prices (which are ridiculous locally) I might as well get a new unit. Quads run as much as an UTV, so yeah! So I always wanted the RZR and been reading for a few years and the more I read the more I want an UTV. Now, as this might been discussed many times over and over, RZR are way over priced, so are canams and yamahas (kawasakis, I do not like) So I found out abot CFM last year actually, when my the dealer opened their doors here in El Paso. Went and looked at them and thought ot myself, another chinese POS. Well, after some more researching (yes, I research everything before I buy, even socks :P) I have been leaning more towards the CFM. My only worry, is the parts availability of them, and also my local dealer does not have a good reputation either. So before I fork out 11k for the CFM (3k more I can get the rzr but without all of the accessories, 800, and if I add another 3k, I can get the turbo 1000cc they have a rebate) but now we are talking about 18k for a toy, too much if you ask me. There was this guy selling a Hisung and my God, what a POS! So what my questions are:

1. Parts availability
2. Overall stability and functionality
3. Warranty

I am mechanically inclined so I am not worried about getting some grease on my hands. What I am worried is that the unit that might get, will be a lemon and will have to go through the process that can take months to fix.

Now, before I finish, the sales person from CFM told me that CFM beat RZR in all sorts of events (which I could not find) and he also told me about RZR catching fire (pretty much bashing the RZR left and right, sales pitch right?) Well after reading, yes, there has been a couple of issues and recalls but that has been fixed. Was able to find a few used RZR (used from a dealer) for arounf 10k for a 800.

Too many questions and a lot of BS (I apologize). So there you go.

Thank you all for your help.

-I

I myself did the same thing as you twice! I went and looked at the RZRs and almost stroked out and researched the Hisun witch you speak of! I bought a Massimo alligator 550 (Hisun) I put 906 miles on it not a single problem except it didn't have enough power but what do you expect it was a 500! So I sold it and had my heart set on getting a RZR again got the pricing and there even crazier now and to be honest with you been sceptical about Polaris to start with owned 2 four wheelers and they were huge POS! So researched and now I own a zforce and couldn't be happier tons of power and there is a lot of aftermarket parts for these unlike the Hisun! With every brand you can get a lemon even the big names but I highly recommend these you can purchase one of these for less then a RZR with nothing on them and to better it our CF motors come decked out with 14 inch sharp looking aluminum rims, winch and top with other brands they want to charge extra for all that! A RZR or can am with all these features will run you about 18 thousand! Lol no I'm not a CF moto dealer but I advise you to research here and yes you will find complaints but also search the RZR forum you will find same thing! So research and make your own decision and good luck!

See: my posts.
I think red rider and I are having a "Groundhog Day " when dealing with this topic.   Lol
Maybe we should make yet another thread for this conversation. A Pro's and Cons board.
Search red rider and gfmoto posts.  I think we cover most of the best and worst attributes of the CFMoto brand.

Hey GF, you hit a 1000 !!!
But I'm with gf on this one, we have had nothing but great service
out of ours.now, I went over ours from front to rear when we got it home.
Really didn't find anything wrong, but I also think our dealer assembled it
correctly, which I think a lot of the problems come from.

I'm happy that people ARE doing their homework before purchasing, just hard to list all the good and then defend the bad. Anyone is free to PM me or email me on questions, if I don't have the answers I will ask those that do. Just glad we do have as many "pros" on this board. I do mean that. NMK, Chuddly, Wheels, Flash  just to name a few.

It's not any one of us...it's all of us.. together.. that makes this work..like pieces of a puzzle.

For the OP I'll toss in that I have been as "POed".. and as "Pleased" as anyone could be at CFM..not my machine. After a few preventative measures and some small upgrades I can say I now trust it anywhere I go. No, it's not a RzR 900 or 1000 or a Yxz or a X3. Never will be. It is a decent "Sport-Inspired" SxS that offers ...with some precautions and use of common sense, good performance, a decent service life and with options included for a decent price. You will be doing and dealing with some of the same issues we all have here..and you will work through them and with a little luck you will have a machine that does what you want and always be there for you.
