Hello from southern Missouri
« on: February 28, 2017, 08:29:33 PM »
Hello from southern Missouri. As the name implies i'm a paramedic. I'm married to a wonderful woman and have two obnoxious teenage boys. As you can imagine they like a lot of things outdoors and one thing we enjoy doing together is hitting the trails and riding at some local ATV parks.  I've been watching the forums for sometime as I purchased my Z force 800 a few months ago and I've been able to get a lot of useful information. I've already changed my paper filter to a UNI 2 stage filter.  Thank you very much for all that useful information. I will eventually get aftermarket tires but I'm going to wear the stock ones out first. One way we plan to do that is this May, we plan to travel to Arizona and ride some of the trails out there.   I'll probably post a bunch of questions pertaining to that trip so if anybody has been there for lives there, feel free to throw some tips on where I should ride and stay as far as campgrounds. Anyway looking forward to meeting all of you and reading all of the post. I've learned a lot from you guys and hope to contribute to this form in the future.

Welcome aboard.  Used to hit St. Joe's State Park in MO every year.  It was a great park until the last few years when they brought all the rock in and eliminated the fun waterways.  Shame.  That's the best camping facility we've been to.

I agree! Been there many times. Went back after they took out all the sand and put in rock to block all the sand. Lot less fun now.

Where do you ride?  We used to go to a friend's house down in Piedmont which was a blast.  He said the riding area is getting smaller due to property owners, though.

Basically anywhere I can!  Going to give finger Lakes up by Columbia Missouri a chance this year and were putting some vacation time in Arizona for about two weeks. Otherwise on the weekends I ride a lot on our property and maybe some backwoods  trails.  One day I'm hoping to go out to the Hatfield McCoy area in West Virginia and see what that is like. I read some pretty good stuff about that area. Another area that I would like to ride is Colorado at the Taylor Lake  campground and cabins. Basically just wherever I can take my machine. I'm kind a new to the side-by-side stuff and I've noticed that they're not necessarily friendly to ever ATV park. I live pretty close to Cloud Nine ranch which is a private club that I made  join for the camping and the riding with my friends.

Hey Hillbilly let me know how the Finger Lakes works out for you. It's been a few years since I was there, and at that time only 4 wheelers and dirt bikes were allowed in there. Mo. Corp of Engineers and MoDNR descibes ATV'S having handle bars, and a seat you straddle.

Yeah I thought they had the 50" width rule in place there.  Would be good to know if that is no longer the case.  That'd be a decent place to check out.
