Hello from Colorado
« on: August 30, 2016, 04:27:54 AM »
I am new to the SxS world. It was just a few years ago that I finally caved in and started using a quad for hunting. All of my buddies have been hunting with 4 wheelers for years. I work in Flight EMS and was not eager to ride something that keeps me employed. However, now I have stepped into the CF Moto world and am having a blast. I have been reading everything I can find and have learned so much from this forum. I will get some pics up of my ride ASAP.

Welcome to the forum.  ATV/SxS's can be dangerous but I would assume you drive a car and you have to deal with car accident victims also?  Its all about knowing your limits and your machines limits and being responsible .
I can imagine a world completely at peace.  A world where there are no weapons, no war, and no violence at all.  And I can imagine us taking over that world because they would never expect it.

Chuddly,

In my line of work I deal with people having accidents on every type of equipment you can imagine. My reference was not intended to call out ATV riders, they just happen be a lot of them making mistakes and getting hurt. Therefore I fly a lot of them. I have yet to fly someone from a SxS accident. I have been riding an ATV hunting for many years now without any problems. Being safe and thinking before you do something has a lot to do with that. I am just happy to have a SxS that offers much more protection.

And if it doesn't have them already, get yourself a good set of harnesses. That cage is nice...but you have to stay put.

NMKawierider,

Harnesses on the way.  I noticed wires attached to the drivers seat belt. Are they a safety item. Mine does not seem to make a difference if the seat belt is in or not.

There is a seat belt light... or actually an icon in the pod that is on and flashing when the driver's belt isn't latched. If you cut this wire it will just be off. I did it to mine when I put in my harnesses. I also kept the shoulder straps thinking I would use them on easy rides but I never do so I may take them out now.
