First Timer - Old Timer

Howdy, I'm a 66 year old stroke survivor who felt the need to buy a steel horse to get around on our spread.
I bought a 2017 CForce 500 HO that needed some repair and I'm sure I'll have a lot of dumb questions.
I put a fresh battery on it today. When in park, my RPMs don't rev very high and if I let go of the throttle it'll die. Slow to crank, jerky response.
i have basic understandings of engines as I've rebuilt quite a few classic cars and trucks... never a motorcycle or ATV.
I suspect I may have a timing issue on this engine. I have no idea how to prove it or even check it. Any video resources would help.

Welcome to the group. That sounds a lot like a fuel supply/pressure problem. Common for these. Need to check the pump pressure and volume per the manual spec...yeah you need a service manual. In the meantime check the valve lash, plug, system voltage and if you can, take a compression test. I might have a manual and if so I will PM you a link to it to download.
