2018 800 EPS trail
« on: May 30, 2018, 01:15:38 AM »
Had one delivered to my house Thursday.  Took the camper up Thursday night came back to town and towed it up Friday for the weekend.  I have a 2 ATV trailer and loaded my UTV on it and it did not fit.  It was on the trailer but I could not put the front and back ramps in the slots on the front and back. I had to deflate the tires to make it work.  Next time I think I can just deflate the front tires then smash them on the front rail.  When I was working out the details on price I wanted the doors installed.  I got the front flip out windshield and the back windshield in boxes when they delivered it.  Got to the mountains and my friends installed the front windshield and started the back one but sent me the wrong one.

I took it easy for the break in.  Ran really good. I did notice the heat from the motor come in the cab.  I also noticed it was a bit louder than I remember.   All in all it ran great and I am happy. I did have a lot of dust come in the cab. I can't wait to see how much the back window will help with the dust.  The driver door has a high pitch squeak but I think I can fix that.  I let my buddy ride it for a while and he had trouble with the seat belt getting out. As much dust it gets it got worse.  Seat belts take a while to break loose. I hope I don't have to cut the seats belts off one day.
I will go thru the forums on help for
Heat in the cab
Seat belts sticking
How loud it is in the cab
Dust control

I think I will sell or trade my camper for a toy hauler.  Can't wait to get out again.

Great to be here.

Welcome. Yeah there are always some adjustments to take in when getting one of these and we can help with that dust, heat and noise. That back shield will help a lot. In the meantime open that front flip as much as you can...but not over 25MPH of on real rough trails. The belts seen to be a new issue with the newer ones. Most of us just go with a 4-point harness and remove the old 3-points anyway.

Hey welcome. Idaho is great, I've done Mackay and Wallace ATVing so far. That's a Wallace trail in my avatar.
My Canadian 800 Trail has the 4 point seatbelt and I haven't found it sticky so I can't advise on that. The dust with a windshield, that's a thing alright. I won't install one for that reason. I have to say I really haven't noticed any extra cab heat but it might be my thick skin. I think it might be possible to make a boot from car inner tube riveted to the firewall to surround the steering shaft and gas pedal cable.
I run a toy hauler and it's really handy. I picked one (Stealth) that's fairly small and half ton towable at 21 feet but still has a front bed so I can have the SXS loaded and still sleep in it and use the bathroom and kitchen, for those road trips.
You'll have some fun times. Welcome again. 8)
