The filter socks to go over the unis are also a great idea.
I have two 800Xc and use them on both.
There is an intake inlet cover but I have found on several indications dust in the airbox anyway.
It's just one more step in protecting your bike.
Break in is important. If you are mechanically adept I have found once you learn how to pull the plastics, these machines are refreshingly easy to work on and doing the maintenance schedule isn't a problem.
Also, from personal experience I have found that a minor clutch kit will do more for your bike than many of the ECU tunes.
Most tunes are generalized tunes dependent on what someone else thinks you want and not tailored specifically to you or your riding habits.
I would also, not get sucked into MSC products.

There is a growing range of quality upgrade parts out here too, some you can find at Curren and TT and others from independent developers and enthusiasts.
I have had some issues (partially self inflicted) but neither bike has ever failed to get me home or back to my trailer.
I have spent entire days roaming the woods and sometimes getting myself into 'why did I do that situations' and getting myself out with the bike intact and a little self deprecating humor.
