Wheel Spacers
« on: May 25, 2022, 04:48:36 AM »
I am looking for some wheel spacers and of course there are a million different types and brands out there. Does anyone have a link for some 1.5" wheel spacers that are known to work on our CFM's? Also I was pondering on possibly going with a 1.5" spacers and changing to a 4/137 as I have an extra set of CanAm rims and tires in the garage. Any links for that as well? Thanks in advance for any help!

Normally any spacer for the 10mm stud that uses the 4/110 pattern and the lug-centric or tapered lug design would work however recently something that CFM does had become a problem with most spacer makers and that is they cheat to save materials by making both the stock wheels thinner and their studs shorter. So people find that not only does the stock CFM studs only come about half way through the provided lug, but the studs on the spacer to mount the wheels to, being the normal or standard length, are too long for the closed CFM lug nut to tighten without bottoming out first because of the thin wheel. The answer in those cases.. is to switch the studs. At least CFM maintained the standard splining and size there. On the newer 1000s and 950s where the studs are 12mm, as may the Can Am 1000s,...I don't have any info on fit other then they too are 4/110 pattern with lug-centric design. I can provide you a link to the "correct" 1.5" spacer however know that it is likely you will have to switch the studs. I got lucky back in 2015 with my purchase and didn't need to.

This set will fit all except for the 1000s and 950s and is just 4/110 to 4/110:

Thanks for the help! What does it takes to swap the studs around?
A BFH?

Basically...but its better to use an extractor to remove them and use the lugs with some washers to pull them back in. There should be one spot on one side of the brake caliper where the studs can come all the way out without hitting anything

Oh boy, I feel really dumb for asking this question, BUT until yesterday I have never heard of one of these. Probably because I have never needed one or tried to remove wheel studs. I've been researching since and just like wheel spacers there are a thousand types and options. Any suggestions on what I should pick up??

Being that I have a 2021 950 (which I should of mentioned to begin with). Looks like I am going to need the M12, correct?  Also I have decided to go with the adapter to a 4/137, do you have any guidance on finding lug centric at 1.5" (preferably) or 1.0"?

Yes, 12mm lugs. If the rims that have the 4/137 pattern use the 10mm lugs, that's going to make it interesting to find an adapter. That would make it  "1" Lug Centric 12mm-4x110 to 10mm- 4x137 ATV Wheel Spacers Adapters". Good luck
