Rodent damage
« on: July 02, 2018, 04:56:06 PM »
I live in a rural area and have an over abundance of packrats, chipmunks and rock squirrels. At least one got to my 800s wires , the repair was simple , I'm lucky in this. While at my dealer he told me this happens frequently here. He told me the best solution is to cut bar of Irish Spring soap, drop it in a sock and hang it on the frame! It never fails. I did so & now wait and see. Anybody else tried this? Wayne

I'm told a bucket of bleach & moth bawls surrounding the perimeter keeps the critters away......no experience  :-\

Kitty-cookies from the cat box..and the clumps of cat piss..very effective for keeping many rodents away. Not always pleasent-smelling but cheap.

I have used moth balls in several locations on a pontoon boat and never have any problems with any critters.
Nitro: Some is good, more is better and too much is just enough.

Corn meal and Baking soda in a small container.
Equal amounts in several places.
It will cut down your population a good bit.
the corn meal attracts them and they ingest the baking soda.
They can't belch, so they pop internally.
its also non toxic to pets and cats and dogs can belch.

I used Irish spring once thinking that it repelled mice and they ate it.  Came back a week later and it was covered in tooth marks.
