General Discussion / Re: HPDE skid plate

Most make them out of 1/2". Kinda expensive though..shipping that size is an issue unless you have a local supplier. I think for myself if I ever waste the factory skid I will probably just buy one from Iron Baltic or Ricochet.

Low voltage can cause a number of issues which effect power like low fuel pressure, ignition power and sensor communication errors but most often there are low voltage error codes that cause the MIL light to flash. All worth testing though so load test the battery and test the charging system.

Other things that can cause lost of speed are..yes, an extremely glazed and slipping belt so pull the cover and inspect it and the clutch sheaves very closely. If it's been a while sense the clutches have been cleaned and serviced that would be a good time to do that as well. Very important. Even the tracks for the flyweights get packed with dirt and dust can effect shifting. As far as the wet clutch, it would have to be pretty bad to limit speed but it can be bad enough to have such reduced friction as to feel like you are taking off in a higher great ratio...same as a slipping belt however its the slipping belt when the clutches shift-out that the ratio changes so much that the speed is limited...not the wet clutch so much. If you do not have the tools, manual or equipment to do this work, it may be best to take it in.

« on: April 26, 2024, 01:36:10 PM »
It's exact CFM meaning will be in the service manual but for other vehicles P2189* code stands for “System too lean at idle,” which means the air-fuel mixture during idle has too much air and not enough fuel. Possible causes of the P2189 code include a faulty oxygen sensor, faulty gas cap seal, and a loose oil filler cap. Decreased engine performance, difficulty starting, and irregular idle are common symptoms of the P2189 code.

The only thing I can offer is this old EPS trouble-shooter. A bit out of date but it might help.

If it were my machine i would go with what it came with.
X2. Nothing wrong with using the right plug and nothing wrong with NGK plugs.

I too am interested as I thing the "D" shaped wheel would make it easier yo get in and out of. I've hears several things like the bolt pattern is off slightly and need an adapter to.. it's an exact match so please do post pics on this project.

Odd, I had this issue yesterday after 500 miles which made a mess. If mine was overfilled, should have happened by now?
I ran mine overfilled sense the start and had no problem until I ran a few runs down open roads at 30+ MPH for miles. Even then it was just enough to kick some out and drop on the muffler heat shield and smell. Next oil change I will put in only what the book says but until then my little catch-can mod is taking care of it. Think it's in the How-Tos.
Large discharged indicates either overheating... or additional expansion from water in the oil.

The wires are there !! I wonder why.

For CFM I can only guess but maybe for on-road vehicles it's common to have all of it...but for off road vehicles with such a low towing rating I assume it would be rare to have a load or trailer wide enough or maybe tall enough to obscure the vehicle's tail lights so..they probably just don't to save a penny or so in production. I suspect when the US has as many that use theirs on road as they do in other countries they will also just include the turn signals as standard equipment here and they do everywhere else. If it were mine and I needed to pull a trailer a lot and on the roads sometimes, I would replace that existing plug with a standard 7-pin, put all that we use to it in the standard order, and wire-in the trailer's plug as the 7-pin male. That way it's standard for all.

To my knowledge CFM had never included turn signal, reverse, brake power or 12 volt power in their trailer plugs. Only brake light, running light, license plate light(recent addition) and a ground.

General Discussion / Re: Tires
« on: April 17, 2024, 11:43:24 AM »
If you are using the stock wheels, as the fronts and rears are different widths, you can not go with the same width tire of different width wheels and expect to have the exact same total diameter so..either go with the 11s and the 9s or go the extra mile and get all new wheels and go square(all the same tires). I would..and will if I ever wear-out these Reapers...and I will go with a wheel that gives me the offset I need to delete the wheel spacers...which are killers of ball joints, wheel bearings, rear knuckle bushings and some a-arm bushings

Others that this has happened to found the dealer didn't tighten-up the battery terminals. On the 18-20s they had a problem with many of the main fuse holders having a bad crimp internally which heated-up and broke connection stopping everything until it cooled back down. Two things to check.

I have heard others make that noise so it may be normal but know CFM puts little grease in any of their bearings so...and the 800s don't have one-way sprags, just bearings.

General Discussion / Re: Update On Parking Brake For Gen 2 Zforce
« on: April 14, 2024, 08:13:05 PM »
I have a problem with this "disconnecting of the park function". Unless they have blocked the shifter gate from going into the "Park" position, one would have to take the engine apart to take the parking paw out...and that means a full rebuild...unless they have a way of breaking the paw itself without damaging the drum or other parts. I would converse with that dealer/shop because there is no reason to do anything with it. My gut is saying some kid at the shop slammed it into Park while moving and snapped the paw.
