CForce 500 / CF500 spray rig
« on: January 05, 2016, 08:57:41 PM »
A couple of pics of my 2013 CF500 and the 4me (13') spray rig I have set up for doing small paddocks. The 12 volt pump will put 40 psi into the 8 nozzles.
I carry 65Lts (16.5 US Gal) in the rear tank, 36Lt (9 US Gal) in the front (with a small 12 volt fish tank pump to transfer to rear tank) and a 6Lt (1.5 Gal) tank of foaming agent for a marker. Also have a hand nozzle for doing around trees and fences. The CF handles it all with ease.

How To's (New Topics are to be Instructional Only) / Water leaks
« on: July 09, 2015, 05:45:49 PM »
With some bikes/models having problems with water leaks (my V5 and CF150) I would suggest that owners have a look at the consistency of the coolant. My V5 had the waterpump replaced under warranty at 400Km and has been good so far. The 150 started leaking at 200km, and looking at the colour and feel of the coolant it looked very weak. Talked to the dealer about this and with his consent I drained off half of the radiator and refilled with coolant concentrate to make a thicker mix. So far there has been no more leaking and the dealer now puts more concentrate into all bikes/quads before they leave the dealership and all bikes/quads that come in for service. He has had no more customers with leaks and has been onto the importer to get the factory to change the coolant mix. I understand that using more concentrate will make little difference to the coolant effect, but the goal was to get more lubrication to the water pump ceramic seal, and it seems to be working.
If you are looking at long term ownership I suggest you look to using a 'waterless' coolant such as the Evans waterless coolant or similar as this is also a thicker greasier coolant that will work well with pump seals.

Introduce Yourself and Your Ride / Murdo
« on: July 09, 2015, 05:30:08 PM »
Hi all from Australia.
I am a retired farmer from northern NSW on the east side of Aus. I have a 2013 CF 500 classic, 2014 V5 250 and 2014 (bought 2015) CF 150 Leader for a 'run around' bike.
The 500 had been set up for hunting (but I also use it for weed spraying with a modified set up from a tractor) with a 1/2" thick plastic protector covering the underneath and footplate areas. The front 'A' arms have a 3/8" thick piece of lexan covering the driveshafts and boots and similar on the rear arms. I have a 1/4" shaped steel plate at the front and a mesh screen covering the grill and lights. So far all the protective bits have taken a bashing with no damage to the bike. Only trouble I have had has been the fuel vacuum tap not shutting off which resulted in the airbox and engine full of fuel. A manual tap fitted in the line fixed that. So far so good. Am happy with the quality of CFMoto stuff for the price I paid. I look at it as 7/8 of Honda quality for 1/2 Honda price. I hope the new forum goes well.
