The added slight restriction of the spark arrester put mine back in the range of the control system..but just. Any less restriction and a chip will be required.

The two brothers exhaust needs a good flowing air filter to go with it and absolutely MUST have a chip. Check your plugs even stock and youll see they are too white. They runs these things with a EPA forced 14.7 AFR to pass emissions. I've got mine running at 12.7 right now and love it. I still have some tuning to do, but it smells good now too ;-)

I just got back from my dealer getting my first service done (literally an hoir ago) and he said the 2 brothers can be ran without a chip..... You say its leaning out? Is it throwing a code? Change the spark plug heat range instead of buying a chip?

Check your plug. They are ghost white. Mine got worse when I put on the Two Brothers and a better flowing air filter.

You gotta think old school... What happens when you add an freer flowing exhaust and air filter to something carbureted? You HAVE to rejet, no exceptions. EFI machines are no different. These machines are set to a specific AFR, and the ECU is basic with few adjustments on its own.

Can you run it with out? Yes you can, but you're wasting your $400 on that exhaust and $40 on the air filter because you wont be able to adjust your map (like rejeting a carb) to unlock the power gains. Not to mention, you risk melt down. Your plugs should have a nice golden brown to them, not a ghost white/grey to them.

Agreed on plug color...
I didn't know how advanced the ecu was in these machines and if it could adjust the af ratio to optimal. More air in, more out = controller for a zforce... gotcha..  :)

These are a closed loop system. They do adjust but only within a range.

Yes, and a very tiny range. CFMoto has sent me multiple emails now regarding the EJK controller along with settings. They seem to be pushing them with out coming right out and saying "use these over stock." The Delphi ECU is VERY limited on what it can do outside of its stock parameters, thats why they run lean(er) on something as simple as an airfilter change.

An interesting seat-of-the-pants observation:

I just got back from a week in southern Colorado/northern New Mexico where for compliance reasons I re-installed my OE muffler end & spark arrestor. I originally did this 2" modification because of two reasons, One-it had over 4PSI back pressure at full throttle which I though was way too much and that it was stretching the springs apart making the connections miss-align and Two- I wanted to prep to install a silencer which I did later.

I found that..at least by the feel...that with the OE parts back in it had a little better pull or power on the low end..which would be consistent for what engines do with increased scavenging from having the correct back pressure. I also noticed it did loose some power/acceleration above say..30mph and up..which would also be consistent with an engine with too much back pressure. I think...and only because I can buy a new muffler end/spark arrestor, that for my current needs, I am going to cut the end off the the OE end and sandwich it in with this new end so I can continue using the silencer and still have that low-end power...which I use way more often then any high speed needs. The new exhaust springs held just fine and I liked the additional quiet the silencer gave on long rides. Just wanted to add this comment. :)

Well, did it. Worked great...sounds fine with the silencer off and with it on it's a good 1-2bds quieter. I call that a win.
