Last I was going to get some heat shield off amazon to put along the back plastic between cab and engine, but heard some complaints of the heat melting the adhesive.  NMKawierider have you experienced anything like this?

No, not at all. And where I have it is close enough to the front exhaust that if it were going to...it would. DO get good thermo guard though. I was worried about the stuff I got being first- "sound deadener", then heat shield but I have had zero issues and would not hesitate using it all over. And it does stick very well. to a cleaned surface.

ok good.  I was definately worried about the front header.  I was looking at that Thermo-Tec on amazon.  Thanks for the response.  Now just waiting to hear about the heat wrap.  Can't imagine that the outlets are cooling both headers all that much, but when I take the outlets out of the equation, I'd hate to have sensor or ECU problems.  Appreciate your videos on youtube, taken a lot of doubt out of diving into this relatively new machine.

I just wrapped my exhaust and wondered if you left your heat shield off above the cvt?  I guess it wouldn't hurt to put it back on, but like you I was wanting to get as much open space around the engine as I could (also will be removing the airbox and snorkeling).

How has this held up with the heat wrap?

Looks like the hardest part is going to be replacing or utilizing all the oval pipe fittings on the cvt to 2 or 3inch round.  I have only seen one kit online and its for the 600 and of course........they have no plans to stock a kit for the 800.  (ummmm....why!) Any suggestions?

Did they say they had no plans?

I believe the rep said "not at this time".  Then I asked if it was a possibility for the future and I did not recieve a reply.  So who knows.  Just figured out of all the cf moto machines, the 800 would be up there on priority.  Not the end up the world.  I was just curious on what type fitting was being used for the oval openings on the cvt.

Mainly to cut down on the heat produced from the headers.  I'm considering it because I plan to snorkel mine.  This means that I will not have air moving over the front and rear header anymore as it is with the factory setup.  If you look back through this thread, there was some questioning about how much that air being pushed to headers actually accomplished.  The heat wrap was a way to keep the heat down incase it did more than what some people thought.  Hope that wasn't confusing.

On a side note....the tube for the front header is in a terrible spot....pulled that off this weekend...full of mud..at least belt is still good to go.

You know guys, there is more then enough talent here to professionally design and build a good snorkel system for these. It's just not that tough and...there are companies out there that build pro-quality air boxes so we can get rid of the problem boxes. Airaid is just one: http://www.airaid.com/utv_intake_systems.aspx

It's just plumb'n! :)

Very true. Although, Most of those companies use a thinner tube and im gonna guess blow molded to keep the amount of parts to a minimum. I personally would just do a PVC/ABS and be done with it, but you also have those guys who just want a kit and be done with it.

There is a guy on the CFMoto UK Owners FB page that removed the stock airbox and put in a Maverick 1000 Turbo airbox in his, they snorkeled from there. it looks awesome AND the airbox is a MUCH better design.

Just got this reply from snorkelyouratv.com

"We don't currently have a kit for it. We will develop a kit when we get one is our shop. You can post on your forums for someone near dallas texas who would like a free installed snorkel kit on their CF moto 800 Z force , they can contact us through our website contact page."

So there's that!

Well. that's actually a good response. Just need someone to drop one off with them for a bit.

I've never used a kit before, but I've read that they use the same PVC that DIYers use, and that often you still have to do a lot of cutting. Basically, you just get the materials, about $50 dollars worth of PVC for about $300, but you still have to do all the work. I've even read that sometimes you still have to buy extra stuff that's not in the kit. When I snorkeled my Grizzly, I did it all myself.

My quote didn't come out right. I was to respond to emersonsc  instead of NMK.
