OK, this tip kinda goes with not letting your biker buddies catch you on a scooter. Yes it works, but try not to let your buddies see you do it. I have found that if you use astroglide or KY lube for getting gromits, grips and any other rubber parts where they need to be. They are water based and once they dry or get washed off, you are good to go and there is no trace of it behind.

I was fighting with some of the round taillights that have the rubber frames. I needed them to stay put after I got them in so regular oil was out. I was putting on some heaters under some grips a while later and after some fighting with that, I dug out my tiny bottle and they went on without a problem and were not going anywhere the next day. It gives you a little time to adjust things unlike alcohol. As I said, don't leave it on top of your box or you won't hear the end of it.

So much potential for salty humor in the thread title but I will take the high road and thank Cosmo for the handy (hehe) tip  ;D

Or save the explaining and just use dish soap.  Also water soluble and will rinse away with rain.  Done it for many  years and dish soap is something we all have around.
I can imagine a world completely at peace.  A world where there are no weapons, no war, and no violence at all.  And I can imagine us taking over that world because they would never expect it.
