v3/250 left side crankcase
« on: February 09, 2016, 08:35:44 AM »
Hey guys,
New here, having a problem w/my left side crankcase on a 2004 V3/250cc: One of the fins that sits under the crank has broken off. As I'm rebuilding, I'm noticing there's not much available for left-side crankcases.  Seems the V3 is a little longer than a standard CN250.
Does anyone know of a successful way to connect the existing (longer) crankcase to a shorter CN250 crankcase?  The shorter ones seem fairly plentiful, and either welding it or bolting it together would solve a lot of issues.
Option 2: having a new fin welded onto existing crankcase
Option 3: is to run it w/o the fin, and see how it goes.
Option 4: wait until a used V3 crankcase comes onto the market.

It's too bad, most of these parts are very available.

Thanks-Rich

I don't have much time with there bikes. Maybe someone here does and will chime in. Did you check with the other cfmoto forum? They seem to be more owners of cfmoto bikes there. I did also see a chinariders forum, they also might be a good place to hit up for info. Not trying to wave you off, just trying to point you to a good place to look.

You are looking for part number 0120-011100-0080. Unfortunatly, that part is no longer available from CFMoto. Your only option is to find a used one. I would try to find a used motor or one thats blown.

Yeah, that's what I thought. I'll try the Chinariders forum.  What is the 'other' CF Moto forum? Is it on this site?

thx.

the other one is dead. 90% of the folks that were on that one came over here because the owner stopped admining the forum.

cfmotoforum.com .  Just looked at it and yes it looks like it's dead. Shame, I wonder where the bike owners went.

I didn't forget about you. I was thinking more of the 650NK owners. Seems like there was a few. Might be a forum just for them somewhere.
