That's the override. You have one too. It gives you full power in diff-lock and reverse. It's a momentary switch but I was thinking of switching it out for an on/off switch.
I never use it lol do you ? Or anyone ? Can it be taken out I took mine out and used the space for something else lol and here I thought it was a hazard light switch or something, lol stupid me
LOL..Yeah I've used it. You should have it... never know when you might need it.
when would it come in handy ?
Well, lets say you were out on Southern and you were in 4WD and about to hit one of those long sandy hills and you needed speed and needed the diff locked. Well without the override your RPMs are limited so your speed would be too so you may not get the momentum you need without being able to override the limiter. I have actually climbed the back side of "Lost Mountain" better not using diff-loc because of the limiter. It does way better with diff-loc but I have to hold the override with one hand all the way up. That sucks...that's why I think I will replace the switch with one that stays on by itself.
Ok, in reverse...lets say you were stuck in a draw where you needed to shoot up one side in reverse to get out or to go far enough to get a run at the other side but the damn thing won't go over like 4 grand and you just can't get enough with that. Override sets the rev limiter back up to the 7750..or whatever it is and you can get a far better run at it.
They do this for safety but they give you the ability to override it if really needed.
