Anyone who owns a Zforce 800 (and i assume the other SxS's) know what a paint it is to check out oil. You cant get your hand in there to get the the tiny dip stick unscrewed.  Then when you do its prone to have dirt fall in it while its open.  Then you have to put that tiny dip stick back in and screw it down.  If you have been riding you WILL be burnt and muddy by the end of it.  Soooooo I have a plan! I bought a brand new CF Moto dipstick and Im going to ruin it LOL.  Im going to bore the center out of it and attach a car/truck dipstick to it so it can feed up to the access hole behind the passenger seat.  This way you can check the oil MUCH quicker and cleaner.  The only thing that I will have to work out is to make sure that the dipstick goes down into the motor so that the oil level is accurate.  Any thoughts on this process?  Anything anyone can think of that I am missing?

Nice idea. I need to check mine but tend to put it off because of how it has to be done. My only thought at the moment is- Because there is no PCV system on these, and the only vent there is is to the air box, there is potential for at least some pressure and high oil turbulence at times, so it might be important to have a sealed and secure adaption to the old stick location and..an automotive stick and tube that locks and seals at the top. The stick itself can always be shortened and marked as needed. 

I thought about that also.  There are several types of dip sticks from the ones that are held in by rubber o rings only, lock over ones, screw in ones.  All types is what im going at.  I will likely go with a secure one of some kind to make sure that there is a good seal from dust and dirt there also since these are after all off road vehicles .

Also remember..it has to be filled from there too..so tube size will be important.

Yup thats why I was actually planning on using a transmission dipstick because they are 3-4x bigger than oil dipsticks.  I got this all worked out buddy

Very cool. Looking forward to your How To write-up. I hate checking the oil on this thing..throws my back out every time....lol

I'm picking up some Castrol Synthetic 0w-40 tomorrow for my Catillac - I'd like to change the filter and oil in it since I'm not sure when it was last changed, only that it LOOKS clean/fresh when I bought it in July and I'd prefer to at least do it now at the end of my riding season then letting it go until next Spring. Arctic Cat really did their homework here, and all I hafta do to check the oil and access the screw on filter is to pop a small cover plate off between the seats and there it is !! Oil filter and dipstick right there and easily accessible.

I always end up making a mess doing this job, but I haven't done a SxS yet. I'm betting it isn't any easier than the ATV based on its size.

In my Z6 I just cut a piece of the plastic that cover the area, and problem solved... Really it was a pain in the arse, before
