So I decided I wanted to add some lighting to my Z8. I looked at several light bars and found one on ebay with a wiring harness that was 120 watt 24 inch bar , it had two of them for $58. Since I have the CF moto and a Massimo 500, I figured I'd kill two birds with one stone. I went through the switch panel and remove switches I won't be using like the flashers and the kill switch, and proceeded to add my switches for my light bar and my rock lights. I took the bottom panel off of the dash so I can access the wiring for the switch panel, and found the pigtails for the lighting system that is key switch activated and made my own piggyback harness to attach my light switches. All in all I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. the switches I used have dual LEDs in them, so whenever I turn on the key switch one side of the switch will light up and the other side of the switch lights up when that switch is activated. The light bar I purchased I wasn't too sure about being so cheap, but I can tell you its like literally night and day difference! The wiring harness that came with it is pretty high quality, it came with its own on off switch, a fully wired relay, and enough harness to hook everything up from the battery all the way out. On the rock lights, I used three quarter inch LED that are commonly found on semi tractor trailers that have clear lenses. I mounted one in each wheel well, and one on the rear of the machine right where the license plate would be. They're not super bright but they do put off enough light that you can see at night if you have to hook anything up behind the bike, and off to the sides if you're in a really dark trail.
