STOP the mess!
« on: September 21, 2020, 09:18:31 AM »
Here is a little trick I use when I'm changing the oil and filter.
Slide a paper plate under the area below the oil filter resting on the frame so it drains into the oil pan below the engine drain plug.
Change your oil filter.
I spray the side of engine with brake cleaner after and let it drain into the drain pan as well.
Let the plate drain then remove and dispose of it.

A simple and effective idea. I am getting ready to do an oil change, and was wondering about the mess it was going to make removing the oil filter.

We have some plates left over from a new years party. Will see if they might work. They are not as pretty as the ones you used though. LOL, thanks for the good tip Ponytail.
