Snorkel design and filter(s)
« on: May 17, 2020, 10:02:54 AM »
Well, I just ordered the parts that I think will get me to the top of a snorkel for the fuel side of the engine.  I plan one a riser pipe going up the back, center of the box and then a 90 degree turn into the top of the cab area with a filter at the intake end there.  All, 2.5" pipe and connectors.  NMK, inside of your primary air box you were using a UNI that had a rounded top that had the red foam covering the entire black internal filter.  Can you remember what the filter number is for that style filter?  That's the style I want to use in my air box.  Thanks

I can give you the numbers but the thing to remember is the two I use both came with 3" flange bases and I had to use some adaptor rings that I got from some other filters to bring them down to 2.25". The one I use most is a 5x6". It's number is UP6325ST. The other is a bit large and touched the other side cause it's a 5x8". It's number is UP-8300st.

If you go to Amazon and search Universal Cone Air Filters, you will find some cheap filters with adaptors that will take you deom 3" down to 2.25" like this one:  https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CM7TJD2/ref=dp_prsubs_3

I don't know how else to get those ring adapters.

Thanks for the reply.  I think the UP6325ST will work.  My intent is to get as much surface area as possible at the intake end of the snorkel.  Looks like my parts won't even be here for another week to 10 days, so I guess my old Chevy step is next in line.  Thanks again.
