I bought a 2 piece tool kit from Amazon when ordering push pins.   Cost was about $15.  Was installing doors and was about 3/4 done with pulling push pins.  Painfully slow with pliers and plastic auto body tools, and was destroying the heads of the pins.  Knocked out the rest in minutes.  Should have ordered the tools before I started.  Looks like I will get to use them just about anytime I want to do any mods.

They come out easy with the pry pliers, I slip a thin wood shim under when it's a spot that might scratch. Some need a straight pull.

I bought a pair at Harbor Freight in Sebring, Fl. yesterday for $8.99. Work great.

As far as I'm concerned, and I have like 3 different kinds of pullers, these are the best. 

Also, if you have stubborn pins, spray some Purple Power (or similar degreaser) on them.  They'll slide right out.

I too went on EBay and ordered the tool users on the YouTube vids were suggesting. My issue came up when it arrived I noticed it had about a 30 degree bend in the tips. That's great for tight spots in corners but sucks for straight pulls. I asked the vendor about this because their pictures showed a straight looking pair. That went nowhere quick. So I did further research and found the ones on the right made by Lisle Tools. There more but work great.

Save yourself the time and effort and get a push pin removal tool. They are not expensive and alot of the time you can reuse the pin. Always have some extra  8mm pins around though.
