My 2012 Z-6 with only 215 miles has an issue with the reverse light on. The engine will rev up in N but in H or L forward gears will accelerate to only to 12 MPH then boggs down but engine does not shut off. It will run steady untill I reach 12MPH. Any ideas?

The Z8s and most others have an RPM limiter in reverse that limits how fast it will go in reverse. They also have an RPM limiter in 4WD that can be by-passed with the ...bypass switch but not in reverse. The only way to override the reverse limiter is to interrupt the reverse switch so it doesn't function.

I'm thinking the Z6s are the same things.

Your reverse sensor is broken. There is an updated part or you can bypass the sensor by grounding the lead to it to the frame.
