In finding it difficult to check the oil, and not wanting to cut into a brand new machine, I took a piece of  1/8" angle slotted to fit over the dip stick and welded a short piece of square stock and a 1/4" drive socket onto it.  Using a T-handle made from some round stock with a 1/4" square drive adapter welded to it and a universal joint, I am able to easily remove the dipstick.  I use a 4 finger pickup tool to pull the dipstick out, check the oil, and replace. The T-handle is long enough to comfortably reach down through the access panel, and the universal joint makes it easy to loosen and tighten the dipstick.  The first time I checked the oil I found that dipstick was not tight, as the dealer mechanic was unable access it easily either, and it might possibly have come out while riding.  I now know it is tight.

Wow. I just sit on the floor and reach through between the tire, move the oil lines aside a bit and get right to it. It is a bit tough getting back up off the floor at my age though...lol. It would be nice to use the access panel to check it.

I tried to get my hand in there as well, but I simply could not get a good hold on it.  This is a little elaborate, but it works for me.  lol

How about installing one of these marine access ports in the behind the seat plastic? Should look stock.  8)  They are called Deck Plates. Lots of sizes. In conjunciton with a CF Moto extension dipstick like Chuddley (I think) suggested in an older thread somewhere, it might solve the problem.

Yeah, me too.  It's like I'm humping the right rear tire, but it works ok.
