I measured the shaft on my Z and it is 12mm. Not sure what the threads are..yet.

At least you now have the common sizes. A deformed thread will only slow you down now.

Success,

I was able to mod my shifter today. It turns out the die needed is a 12mm 1.25 pitch.
Really easy to do.
Hopefully my right knee will appreciate the work I did.....lol
