This is my writeup for making my ZForce 800 Trail street legal, which involves installing horn and turn signals.  According to my Service Manual the 950 Trail and 950 Sport Gen2 are all common with the 800 Trail, so I suspect the same installation procedures would apply.

Thanks a bunch for this how-to for 2023 800 trail turn signals. I had previously bought a turn signal kit online. Of course all the switches are not compatible with the CFMOTO installed harness. Thankfully, you posted the part numbers to all items that I may purchase them and have the correct connection. Lots easier than splicing and what not.

Glad my efforts have been helpful to others.  The CFMoto parts aren't cheap compared to similar parts from places like Amazon, but the Plug-n-Play aspect can be priceless.  Finding the CFMoto parts can be challenging and requires patience as they're typically not kept in stock with most dealers though.  I had one part on backorder for about two months, but it finally came back in stock and was shipped out to me.

Question, is there a dust cap that needs removed from flasher harness? It looks all one piece and does not seem to fit flasher plug in, although it does have same amount of pin connectors.

Making progress. Finally, removed dust cap from harness connector shown. Plugged in flasher module and reconnected battery. Still no sign of turn signal in dash controller or from front lights. Do I need to check for an extra connection from front headlamps to harness wiring? Any suggestions?

I think you said earlier that you'd purchased an aftermarket turn signal kit.  Did you use the flasher module from that kit or did you get the CFMoto Flasher?  Not all flasher modules are the same and an aftermarket one may not work.  And there are different CFMoto Flasher part numbers, one for the Gen1 (2022 and earlier) and one for the Gen2 (2023).  The part number in my writeup is for the Gen2 (2023).

Also, did you just remove the dust cover from the connector, or did you also do something like try to pry out the yellow plastic?  You should have ONLY removed the dust cover.

Thanks for reply! Checked my parts order and they are exact to the parts list. However, I did not purchase the Hazard switch. Will trouble shoot wiring to determine if I may have pulled a wire connection loose on the harness plug in process of removing dust cover cap.

I believe the turn signals should work without the hazard switch installed, but the wiring diagrams aren't that detailed.  (When I installed turn signals on my previous Honda UTV I had to build my own wire harness and I had them working with or without the hazard switch, but no telling what CFMoto might have done in their wiring.)  You should at least have the turn signals working on the front if you used the CFmoto parts.  The rear signals require swapping the wire connectors behind the right rear quarter panel though.  I'll see if I can pull my hazard switch and verify that the turn signals still work unless you find something in your efforts.

Just verified this morning, with the Hazard switch removed/disconnected the turn signals still work as expected.

Very good to know. Running errands today, plan to check the parts and the wiring tomorrow morning. With the sun shining today it really makes me itchy to just go ride the BLM area south of town. Excited though to have it street legal and ability to not need to trailer up for an excursion south of town.

Just a thought, but make sure you don't have any loose connections. Those CFMoto connectors can be a bear to get together and even harder to get apart.  Also, verify that all the other lights, switches and electrical stuff works - especially head lights, brake lights and possibly backup lights.  You might have blown a fuse on some circuit that affects the lights - if you haven't done the wire connection swap in the right rear quarter panel you should have backup lights as well as brake lights.  Not sure if you'll have turn signal indicator lights on the dash if the turn signals aren't working, but it's worth checking.   If everything is working you will have indicator lights on the dash for the turn signals and hazard lights.  Good luck, and wish I was headed out to the BLM trails with you!

An owner of a 950 Sport has verified that the instructions I posted work, and he pointed out some things that weren't as clearly spelled out as they could have been.  I've updated and reposted the instructions which hopefully address the issues he noted.

Has any one tried this on the Zforce 950-4? I don't see any amber in my headlights. It seems like all the same plugs are there.
