I made it easy to check my oil
« on: June 29, 2017, 11:44:36 AM »
So I'm sure much like me you guys are all REALLY sick of how we have to check our oil on the Z force 800. I dont want to NOT check my oil because its a pain in the butt. So I came up with my own solution. It may be a bit "extreme" for some people but I just made my life easier so Im good with it. Also you can really only see a couple extra bolts when the seat is in so its not the end of the world.
I cut the plastic that goes around the back of the cabin space. Then took a piece of metal I had laying around and ran some screws in it to hold the 2 pieces back together. Works great. I can easily get to to my oil fill/check location as I have also put the extended tube and dip stick in mine. Hope this helps you guys. It took me a grand total of 15 min to do this and I probably saved myself that much time just checking the oil already LOL

I can imagine a world completely at peace.  A world where there are no weapons, no war, and no violence at all.  And I can imagine us taking over that world because they would never expect it.

Photobucket changed it so free accounts don't get the encoding to show on 3rd party postings. Bastards....F'ed-up a lot of people and companies. Mine will show cause I have had and been paying for their "Plus" account for almost 10 years now. This move by Photobucket has cause a lot of people to leave for other image hosting sites.

Stupid Photobucket.  That pretty much pushed me to the point that I wont be using them.  I will fix my pictures as I come across them.  If anyone sees a post of mine that has broken picture links let me know and I will sort them out slow but sure.  I have a bunch out there so its going to take time.   >:(

So did they make you pay for an account or just do some kind of upgrade?

No Im just linking them from my drop box account now.  Im not buying another cloud based storage option when I already have 2 that work better and dont kick up crappy adds all the time.

Both parts are from a 2016 zforce 500 (maybe the 2017 also as I have not looked at that one).  You replace the factory dipstick with the extended one and the tube. You will need to buy the extension tube, the extended dipstick, and 2 O-rings.  Part numbers are as follows

Dipstick - Part# 0GRB-011001
O-Rings (you need 2) - Part# 0110-013030
Extension tube - Part# 0800-011011-1000

All these part numbers are from Alpha sports website so I hope they are CF Moto part number.  I dont really buy from them anymore due to HIGH shipping cost and long delays on parts and them loosing my orders on more than one occasion but I still paid for them...but you can if you would like.  Or just get them from your local dealer.

Yes it does.  No tools needed to do this mod at all.

Hey Chuddly. Would you mind posting a pic of the location of the hole you cut in behind the seat? Want to see where and how you did it. Thanks
