Thought of that but the rocks tearing it up changed my mind. Easy enough to just hit them with some flat-black Rustoleum once in a while. Heavy puppies but they are hanging in there very well.

Good job on the paint, made all the difference to the appearance.  Although, I wonder what some gold or chrome paint would've come out on this :)

Great looking steel skids. I'd buy the Iron Baltic set for their $600.00 but I talked with Nils and they don't make a set for the 50" 800!
It seems they can't get hold of an example to measure up. The main one would be the same as the wider 800 presumably but the A-arms aren't compatible with anything they make now and I'm damned if I want to pay that kind of money for a partial skid plate set.
I'm sold on the 10MM HDPE though. I have an Iron Baltic set on my King Quad and I can't imagine anything going through that thickness of plastic skid plate.

Seems like it wouldn't take much to modify the a-arm guards to fit the shorter a-arms though. The rest would fit fine. I am happy I have these but something lighter would be nicer.

Iron Baltic has great customer service. Have you asked them for just the skids? If the a arm guards are like the 600 ones, cutting them down will be a chore but It could be done.

I think it might turn into a boondoggle trying to cut down the A-arm skids of the wide 800 to fit the 50". There's a two hole plate on the inside beside the king pin tube of the 800 wide, that apparently Iron Baltic uses for the inner mounting points. That plate doesn't exist on the 50". Also there are diagonal mud drain slots going right across where one needs to cut to cut down the inner length. Cutting there would leave an abomination. :) The rear, might get away with it. The front, I doubt it.

Just looking at parts diagrams there doesn't seem to be a viable direct replacement for A-arm guards by Iron Baltic for other machines like the 600's, they look way different.

Ordering a main Iron Baltic skid plate by itself might be an option. If the price is right.
