If you are going for max performance you will need to find what your setup will be and what riding style.
I use two different setups
1 for Rally
1 for offroad racing.

Rally I don't like backshift may brakes and hand brake do a better job. I run 24g and A1 I can hit 125kph with co driver
Offroad I want power now, I run 25g and B2. This will spin 27 ripsaws or 28 zillas with no problem.
I have a few mods to up the hp to handle this settings and I like them,
But each person will have a different like, feel and riding style.

Riding Style:
I suppose the best way to describe it would be rally. Our trails and routes are mostly wide and lots of sand. They do have some nice straight runs, but also some fun technical curves and twists as well as hills. I want to be able to punch it out of a turn, but also have some decent top end above stock.

Maybe when someone has there clutch apart, they could do a write up on the tools and setting the secondary.

Tools are snap ring pliers (cur-clip) and a driven clutch compressor.
Exit factory position is B1

I would stick with B2 and if any more stall is needed drop to the 24 gram sliders. If you are going for deep mudding and don't care about the loss of speed, then A2 with the stock 25gram rollers. I would also check to see if fully turned the 30s will fit without rubbing unless you already have a lift kit.

Thank you for the help! I am going to try to fit them without a lift. I believe their is someone on here with 30s. I think they put them on before his lift and they rubbed a little. You think I could use the stock wheels on the z or would have to go aftermarket for 30" tires?

You can use the stock wheels for the tires but you need to remember, our 53s, the tires and wheels are closer-in then the EXs because of the shorter a-arms. I did test mine with the set I have on my Brute which did stick out 1.5"s on either side over the stocks. Loved the added stability, but made it too wide for my needs so I stayed with the stocks and 27". Try the 30s. You can always get a different offset wheel and lift if needed. Post photos!

I have 30s on mine. I put them on before the lift and they fit fine. But, mine is an EX and I used wider off-set wheels. I am starting my clutch mods, but haven't had time to finish it yet. I'm starting with C4 just to see what happens. I'll try it before I put everything back together. If it's too much, I'll back off a little.

Just looked at mine with the wheels fully turned in both directions with the 27s and just don't see the room for 30s on these 53s..at least not with the stock wheel offsets.

The z8s are right hand threaded...ie leftie-loosie(counter-clockwise), rightie-tightie(clock-wise)...lol

I also should tell you that some of us, including myself, have has trouble breaking the driven or secondary clutch nut loose. These are only torqued to 80ftlbs but in out cases, the nut was rusted and seized to the clutch's steel hub. I broke two breaker bars using 3' cheaters. It took buying a 1000ftlb air impact and socket to finally break it free. Others have had no problem though.
