My rear axle kept popping out of the differential. So after a few choice words, OK a lot of them, I took it apart and found the snapring is a bit small and just not holding well. I could have bent it out a little bit but I had an axle for an early 2000 sportsman. I measured the ring on it. They are thicker by .010 and will fit. It was a pain getting it to go in, but after making a match mark to line it up then a few good wacks, it's not coming out without my permission again.

Good. As I recall, someone else had an issue with an axle that kept coming out.

I had the issue with the axle coming out multiple times.  They eventually had to put a longer axle in.  So far so good.
