At about 60 miles my speedometer stopped and started intermittently now stopped all together. Is this difficult to change? It's under warranty but dealership is about hour and a half away. Is it that black plug by the back drive shaft ?there is a similes one on the transmision as well. Or is that one cable that connects both? One dealership asked do you ride in mud??(duh) said it may have gotten dirty and take it out and clean it. ( really??) saying a part on a side by side malfunctioned because of mud is like saying your car broke because you drove it on the road. Info or any pics of what to look for or just make the trip and have dealership fix it? Also. When starting it sometimes makes a "clunk" when cranking then stops. 2nd turn of the key works fine. One other thing doesn't always want to go into park sometimes have to give it a little rocking or put it in forward or reverse then back to park. Any of this a "normal trait" of these? Drives and operates amazing other than those issues.

The speed sensor is a known issue with many although mine hasn't been a problem yet. Its on the front side driveline and with the center cab plastic removed, it's easy to get to. Here is the test for it after removal:




As for the clunking and cranking stopped...that's something new. I would look for a bad connection or take that one for that one. Mine sometimes just dies after putting it reverse and touching the gas. I haven't taken it in for that because it always started right back up.

On park, as the parts break in and get some shine on them it gets easier to get it in & out of positions including park. Know though that park has a paw or lever has teeth that has to drop into a gear that does have to line up and sometimes it will have to be rocked a little but shouldn't be too much. The speed sensor is absolutely a warranty issue. Its found in the rear differential and is easy to replace.
