Adjusted Rear Fenders for the 53"
« on: October 18, 2015, 07:30:55 PM »
Some of you know I bought a set of EX fenders for my 53 and because they kept getting caught on stuff the lower wings were taken off. Well still they got damaged on the woods weaving around rocks and trees. So, because I was never really happy with the looks and having to repair them again, I removed both front and back ex fenders and reinstalled the OE fronts. And sense they were F'ed-up any way I decided to...adjust the rears to ...be more 53" friendly and just barely cover the tire. They worked very well on our last outing..no issues at all. And I was able to keep the rear wings. Here's some pics:

They should. The 53s really need something. I was going to build something out of some 1/8" sheet ABS but ran a string line over the EX fenders and decided give it a shot.

I laid a string across where I wanted to cut it, taped it down so it wouldn't move, then most of I use my prota-band, some just a fine tooth hand saw and a bit with some large snips. It cuts pretty easy actually.

Yeah...me too. It was a little tough to put those 50-dollar each fenders under the..saw.. though...lol
The pressure washer did make short work of getting the bed liner off though.

Here are the guards I have ordered through my dealer. They line up perfectly with the plastic rivets/studs. I may add a couple more rivets to each guard. Only one is in, the number of the pic is the rear driver side.
They from the 600 Snyper.

I believe the dealer quoted me around $70. CDN for each side. They don't stick out any further than the rock guards either. Yes my unit is the 53" model.
Now all I'm looking forward to getting is a lift kit and I will be one happy little Dude! :D

It might be a better idea to get some like you got Clark and chop them up that's a lot of cash
