I went to Socorro New Mexico and dude that puddle looked crystal clear and maybe about a foot and a half deep but it was all river Rock and I sunk lol still pulling out rocks out of the Moto. And yes that was after I was useing the purple corse sponge it came with but I went and bought the uni fine and installed it so I'm a clean and check it again and after a few rides how did your filter look after a few rides or have you even checked it. And the dirt on the bottom of the filter houseing  is from the mud when I pulled it apart but got to say it sealed good not a drop of water was in there.

Oh I have not checked mine yet. I'm sure nothing gets through the Uni filter. I'm surprised anything that large got through the prefilter and the oiled course purple filter though. Guess I'll check...dang.. It's just such as PITA and I clean and seal-grease the seal on the box too.

But still even if the filter is a tag dirty shit bud better then it ever was before and yeah now with the uni should be even cleaner. I bet if I were to take the uni off it would be clean inside, and the heat that it used to throw is serious down from 1-10 scale to a 2 or 3 honestly that heat Blocking material made a huge huge difference it's crazy. I feel like buying me a roll and doing more.

I think you are right. So I checked mine just now and I'll be damned...I did run mine in Gallina with the course foam and no prefilter...because it hadn't come in yet...and it did let a little get by. Not much but more then I expected after seeing how clean the inside of the foam and intake tube was.. Here's what I found:



So I guess the Uni fine foam will stay in the mushroom filter for now. I re-cleaned the TwinAir and cleaned the airbox...and re-seal-greased the seal. Let's see how it looks next time. Here's the starting point:

Damm that's crazy what a huge difference... Well I'm a clean mine and check it after a few rides I'm a use the uni filter on the mushroom....

Still..pretty clean in there compared to how it used to get... I see your seal does what mine does. At the bottom at the lowest point, there is dirt across the seal. I think this means the cover and seal are not making good contact. This could be a problem in water. I put extra seal grease in that area this time but I wonder if those clips should be.."adjusted".. to pull-in harder in that area.

Maybe I'm not sure cuz my rig was pretty deep in water and when I opened the Airbix it was dry I was really really surprised but I took a brush to it also and lubed it up..

Just a little update. Decided to check the gas millage today and discovered that although the performance had remained mostly unchanged, the millage did drop from mid 20s to mid teens with the fine green filter plus and the plugs are slightly darker then before. Although I am pretty sure the fine green foam material will flow fine dry and when mostly clean but it's clear it is restrictive even clean and oiled. The super-course purple filter the mushroom filter came with is OK, but just a little too course for me so I opted for something in the middle, and strangely the very same material that most all UNI two stage filters are made with is in that middle. The red course is 40PPI (Pores per Inch) and the yellow is 60PPIs all in a single 5/8" thick pad where the solid 5/8" green has small 65PPI. I will however keep the purple course filter oiled in a bag and with me on long trips just in case. I will also not use the red prefilter unless I am in extremely dusty or rainy conditions. Having it on top like this makes it very easy and quick to service anyway. Also, sense changing it back to the purple while waiting for the new Uni the throttle response is back were it should be. Thought it was a little off.

Jose, test your millage and if it's dropped too, get the green filter out of there and go back to the purple for now.

Well another update 150 dusty,muddy,wet miles later here is my air filter I was surprised to see it this clean I don't even remember the last time I cleaned it! Before this mod I had to clean it after every ride!!!!!!! and I am useing the purple foam filter on the mushroom intake. @nmkawi do u think I should go get some unit 2 stage ?

Well another update 150 dusty,muddy,wet miles later here is my air filter I was surprised to see it this clean I don't even remember the last time I cleaned it! Before this mod I had to clean it after every ride!!!!!!! and I am useing the purple foam filter on the mushroom intake. @nmkawi do u think I should go get some unit 2 stage ?

You know, that course purple one works just fine oiled and it has no issues with restriction. I have mine in a baggie in my trunk ready to put on if the Uni gets bad. I wouldn't worry about it as long as your Unifilter keeps looking like that. 

Took a quick run to southern today.  I like the doors! I like the wheel spacers! I still don't like the tablet GPS   No matter what I do I just can't see it well enough.

The purple foam was oiled and didn't cause any restriction or change in gas millage. Jogon30 has the same setup and is still using the purple filter on his with no issues. Like I mentioned above, when I switched to the green fine foam I had a change in gas millage so not I am using the red/yellow UniFilter and its great.

I need to tell you that if you ride in a lot of deep mud that fills the back with it, this isn't the mod to do. One of our members found this out. He converted to a snorkel afterwards.

Nope, just sealed it off. The hot air just flows to the sides and out now instead of up into the cab. No issues and even the heat shield/sound deadener isn't showing any signs of being heated.
