ZForce 950 Height?
« on: December 01, 2021, 02:11:47 PM »
The specs online show the height as 71”.    I am placing a deposit on a 2022 ZForce 950 HO (not the HO EX) this week.     Does anyone have a stock height Zforce 950 , with stock tires that can verify this for me?   My dealer told me the 2021 should be the same as the 2022.  The 2021 he just measured came up at 73”.   I have a 71 1/2” opening going into my storage area that can not be modified.     The only thing I can do is air down, or go with plan B for storage.

Thanks.

That's cutting it a bit close..even if it was just 71" couldn't put any larger tires on it. Could load it up with a couple of people..that should drop it enough to get it through the door anyway.

I was thinking of taking advantage of the beadlock rims and airing down to zero when I approach the opening to the storage spot.   That’s got to yield an inch, or two.

I just measured mine the other day.  Put a level on the highest point of the roof and a tape measure down.  I was a touch over 73".  My garage door is at 76", so I'm fairly close, but manageable.  You could always adjust ride height with the shocks, at the expense of ground clearance of course.  I wish the roof was closer to the cage instead of sitting a couple inches higher.

Thanks Jake.  Although it isn’t the news I wanted to hear, you confirmed what my dealer said.   I guess I can trim a bit by airing down and perhaps adjusting the suspension .  I can restore everything when I go back on the trailer.

Hopefully,  in April I will have the new machine and will be riding it in your fine state of PA.  It’s been kind to all my previous machines for many years.

Good to hear, John! We definitely have a lot of good riding country.  I've been kicking around the idea of adding on to my shed for my 950 storage.  The madness never ends I suppose  :D

Yes, the madness goes on and on.   Black Friday I was in Harrisburg picking up a new trailer for the 950.  I sold my two King Quad 750’s and the Triton trailer I had to haul them.  I bought a 12’x6’  Carry On aluminum trailer.  Now I am waiting for the 950 to come in.  Hopefully it makes it by April 1st.   That’s when we start our season in NE PA.  Later in the spring we ride Coudersport, SSRT, Bloody Skillet, Whiskey Springs….  Hopefully New Hampshire in the late spring and summer.

Man you way more patience then I do. That's still over three months away. I'd be so tempted to increase my budget a bit.. and go with something else...something that's available now.

I could have picked up a 2021 model, but decided to wait for the extra ponies on the 2022.  I also like the look of the 2022 with the bead lock rims.

I am ok waiting.  Plenty of accessories to buy between now and then.  The trailer is in the back yard, mirrors are in the garage with the back windshield.  Now I need rock sliders, front windshield, front bumper, door inserts, storage box and cab heater.

The trails I ride all close down in February.   I sold both of my ATVs and the ATV trailer.  Now it’s just time to wait.   Just under four months to go before opening day of 4/15!

Small world, John.  I live 8 miles from Coudersport and work there everyday.  When you get out this way, hit me up.  Maybe we can put a couple CF's on the same trail.

Sounds Good Jake.   I keep trying to get back out that way, but my friends (younger than me) complain that it’s a “long ride”.  Lol.   They want to drive out, sleep and ride the next day.   It’s about 6 hours to the old Potato City Motor Inn from my house.   Can’t sleep there anymore .  Unless you get arrested that is.    Next time I think I will have to try the Mill Stream.

Coudersport is on the hit list for next summer.   I will definitely reach out to you.

Enjoy the holidays.

Potato City was definitely quite the place in it's time.  Most of us were sad to see it go.  The Mill Stream or the Westgate are both pretty good though.  Happy holidays to you as well.

If you did the 2-people thing and only 1 person sometime to get it Out of the storage place, you would be SOL stuck.
Change the roof, the door, the model, or something.  That something might mean get storage/UTV that fit each other.

Obvious & simple solution.  JMO.

YMMV

I decided to go a different route with storage.  I am going to build a new shed in the yard and make a dedicated home for the Zforce.

A storage facility is going to run me over $100 per month.  After 6 months , or so, I could have built something.

I'm doing the same thing, John.  Even though mine fits in the garage (barely), I may go bigger tires in the future, and I can always use more storage anyway.  There was a concrete patio by my shed, so I'm adding a lean to.  Roughly 12*20, same as the shed.  Even with the price of lumber and metal roofing going up, I'll be in about $1200 or so.  I may enclose it in the future.  The shed desperately needs a makeover too (roofing and siding), but that will have to wait til spring.
