Everyone is busy throwing shade every which way when we can't even get a straight story from the owner of this machine who is playing pseudo mechanic himself reporting his own findings/diagnosis that doesn't seem to make sense.

My money is on bent push rod... don't care if these are overhead cam.. its a push rod... end of story

I do agree with this statement, it makes troubleshooting even more difficult......you may have a multitude of new problems that need to be resolved before you can get back to the original issue. In this case, probability of the real issue will most likely still be there after the rebuild.

What bothers me is when you have brand new fresh engine that you are starting for the first time & it won't run properly. It over fuels, bore washes or what ever......tuning issue's....I just don't like it.

Myself I do like the challenge when something like the OP's comes in. The brain has to engage & you have make sense of all things that don't  :) Then when you discover how simply the problem was & connect the dots to all the other issue's......maddening as hell  ;D

My broken record comment & this situation fits. CFMOTO dealers need to be above average especially in the shop, the tech should have interrogated the OP until he has clear understanding of what has gone on. For the tech to do that he needs a solid understanding of basics, in this situation the tech has added to the problems that were already present.

It's an old IH (International Harvester) joke...at least I think it started there. When anything went wrong in an IH engine we always started looking for bent pushrods...and always found at least one.

True, but in this case, the mechanic is charging 10 hours and claiming 30 hours and started a tear-down without a proper diagnosis which, at worst, should take no more than 2 hours tops.

I would recommend taking lots of pictures to document the condition of the bike/motor at the time it was picked up and try to get a diagnosis from another mechanic. Just part of the evidence collection process before deciding on legal action to get cash back.

Thanks for the advice guys. sorry I wasn't able to answer for sometime now, ive been a little busy the last week or so..

I know I am not be a mechanic but I am a electronics technician and am more then qualified to test ALL electrical components. I didn't not mess with anything with the engine during my trouble shooting process just simply took a series of recommended steps in order to try and get my machine running...

I do feel there is an underlying issue here also, but i dont feel as if it should have taken a mechanic "30hours" to figure out. my opinion is that running the stock airfilter in extremely dusty conditions had alot to do with this and the oil that got sucked into the engine just set it over the top..

The name of the dealer is "Outdoor Depot" its located in South Fork, CO. The way I was treated by the owner was completely uneccessary and also uncalled for. ive never been treated like that by a owner of any company in my life. i would no reccommend this dealer to anyone in the area... When i boiught the machine a few months ago the owner seems like such a good guy( in order to make a sale) but when it comes to helping it he doesnt like your decision he will throw you off the property.

I am in the process of weighing my options in order to fix my machine. I will keep everyone posted on the upcoming events.

update: So I was finally able to get my machine fixed and back out on the trails. I ended up taking the machine to a local guy and he charged me a little over $1,000 dollars to rebuild the top end. The mechanic said he thinks the top end went due to pure coincidence and said the valves and pistons were caked with shit. (thinks maybe the oil could have grabbed a clump and deposited it into the engine) After top end replacement the machine runs like new and I'm very happy with the results.. what beats me is that the dealership wanted $6,000 dollars........ personal opinion is stay away from the stealership unless you have a warranty.

I apperciate all the tips and info along the way, until next time!

What are you asking for? Diagnostic tips?

What diagnostics have you done? Compression  test? Fuel pressure test? Spark test? Flip the kill switch a few times? Is there gas in the tank?

Help us help you.
