I had every intention of testing this out for myself in March, having put about $400 into parts on my Wildcat over the holidays. I bought an EZ Ryde exhaust and a Speedwerx secondary clutch spring and wanted to line up against my BiL's Rzr900. The Wildcat's 700 twin is always overlooked when it comes to a performance discussion, simply because most guys follow the standard 'Its got more CCs, therefore its faster' frame of mind. Any guy with a V8 knows the car saying 'There's no replacement for displacement'.
But the Wildcat's trick is its lighter weight, giving it about a 150lb advantage over the Rzr, and as far as power to weight, I think the numbers come out to around 6.2:1 (64hp, 990lbs), compared to the Rzr900 at 6.3:1 (75hp,1200lbs). So with the bump I got from the exhaust and the clutch spring helping the clutch get a better bite on the CVT, I was anxious to see how it ran. But I never did get in a run against him - we had a lot of rain on that day and never did get in a run. By the end of the summer, I plan on finding out just how much the 700 has in it.
