I have a z6 that will not start have fire have fuel if i remove the injector it sprays when i crank the motor.If i remove the injector from the intake and and hold it right above where it sits it will start and run but as soon as i stick it back in it dies.Any help would be appreciated

Two thoughts. One, as the injector is just an electric valve, if the power side develops an internal short or bleed, if it grounds before the coil it won't operate so touching the base to a grounding source would effectively stop it from operating. Hold the injector body against the head or cylinder while cranking to see if it stops. If so replace it. The other though is maybe it isn't getting enough air to start and only gets it while the injector is out of it's port. Check that the throttle body is working and that the idle-air valve is working. It gets hot and have been known to fail. And if it does...and many have...it will not start sometimes or idle...ever.

i have had the intake tube off plates open still no start.The body of the injector is plastic and only the tip is metal doesnt look like it touches any metal in the port but ill ck the injector anyways. Any good ways to ck the tps and idle air valve.

If it runs with the injector pulled than the ECU is doing it's job, and the pulled injector is adding air to the mix.

TPS can be checked with a meter. Just look for any dead spots.
The AIC valve doesn't play much of any role during start.
What year is the bike?

Will it start with partial throttle pedal?
Does it run with a shot of starter fluid?
Did you clean the T-Map sensor (related to mixture calculations)?

Another possibility is an intermittent break in the injector wires that makes contact when you move the injector, but that is more difficult to test for.

None of this is making any sense. If it runs with the injector pulled, it should start, or at least pop, with starter fluid.

Hmmm ..... Grasping at straws.  Fuel line pinched? Fuel pressure check? Valve adjustment/timing?

Do you smell fuel in the exhaust?

Maybe it swallowed a mouse! .. and it's stuck in the intake track.

no pinched line new fuel pump valve seem to be adjusted. What baffles me is it run well with the injectors out also i am wondering should i be sucking air thru the injector port or blowing out currently blowing out.its sucking thru the tb.

How can the fuel get to the cylinder if the air is being pushed out the the injector hole?

The injector is on the intake side and should only see negative pressure.

If you are getting pulse air exiting the injection hole then you have an intake valve/timing/seating problem and I would also expect the fuel to be pushed out if the air is blowing out.

What was the circumstance that lead to the machine not running? Have you done a compression test?

2012-13 trying to help a friend his uncle passed away just  trying to get it running for him.as far as i know just died on his uncle.i'm getting compression feels pretty strong coming out i just need to find an adapter for my tester.i just don't understand sucking thru the tb should be the same at the injector port there is nothing between them except the throttle blade.
