Hi! So, this is my first post in here. I decided to try my luck in this forum, seems like alot of you know these bikes pretty well.

I own a CFMoto X7 2012-model. I’ve owned it for the past 5 years and it really has caused more headache than good times to be honest.
The problem is that I can’t trust the ATV at all. It just stops whenever it feels like. The first time it stopped, I was driving it on the road and almost got run over by other cars. Needless to say, i’ve stayed away from the roads after that.
I believe the problem to be located around the battery/charging system. I think the rectifier has burned my battery because it won’t charge more than 10v-ish.

So my question is: How do i measure the rectifier to see if it is faulty? I feel I have looked everywhere for an online manual or something similiar, but no luck.

My kids really love the ATV (when it’s running) and I would really like to get it sorted again.

A battery with a shorted cell will not take a full charge (roughly 2.2 volts per cell). So first have the battery tested.

Assuming a good battery, the charging system should be send in 13-14.5 volts to the battery (no load). If its 12 volts or less, then the stator output and rectifier/regulator need testing.

Hi, thanks for the reply.

I have already testet the battery while running the atv. Somehow I forgot to mention that in the previous post. If i remember correctly I believe I measured arounf 30v across the poles - wich is why I have come to the conclusion that the battery is burned and the rectifier probably is the culprit.
I haven´t thestet the stator, maybe I will give that a go later on. (Short on time and too much to do)

As to the video of the rectifier-testing, I have already watched it a few times. But, as he says in the video; not all are alike and so on... Where he measures 0,5v on the testing of the anodes, I get a reading of 140 on my multimeter - wich is more similiar to a different video on youtube where some different guy is testing a rectifier...

I obviously don´t know what output a healthy rectifier would read on the multimeter, do any of you have an idea?

30V at the battery while running?

Replace the rectifier/regulator.

Have the battery load tested and replace if damaged.
