Has anyone put an electric windshield wiper kit on the SuperATV flip up windshieds? Rode in upstate NY Thursday and Friday and it rained all day both days. I couldn't see anything through the windshield. 2020 zforce 800.

I personally would never put a wiper on any plastic windshield..not even one with as good of hard coating as the SATVs. RainX makes a product for plastic that works like the one for glass...makes it bead-up and slide off fast enough that you don't need a wiper most times.
Works pretty good. Also helps protect against scratches. These need all the help they can get.

I did use the Rain-x for plastic. Seemed to hold the water beads to the windshield. The beads wouldn't move, just seemed to be stuck.

Worked OK..not perfect.. for me but I applied it like the glass product as in put a coat, then another, let it sit a few minutes, then buffed-off with a soft cloth.

That's exactly what I did. I think I might not have given it enough time to haze before buffing. I'll try again.

For what it's worth, make sure the surface is really clean before you apply the Rain-X. I like Stoner Invisible glass. It has no ammonia in it and no detergent to leave any residue behind.

Then apply a coat of rain-x using a paper towel, making sure to apply in overlapping circles. Let it flash off and then apply your second coat. Lightly spray a microfiber towel with the glass cleaner and then use it to wipe off the haze. Then buff it with a clean microfiber.

Now, take a used dryer sheet and lightly wipe the inside of the windshield.

Since the windshield is plastic and not glass, there is going to be a static charge build up. That is going to help the water stick to the windshield. The dryer sheet sill help reduce the static charge and allow the water to flow freer.

Instead of rain-x, you can also use spray wax. The kind where you spray it on while the car is still wet. The water helps disperse the wax agent and when you wipe it off you buff it in. And each time you wash and use it, it builds up protection. Just carry a dryer sheet with you to use as needed.

Paper towel fibers are abrasive. Lemon Pledge and a soft cloth only, is what I use after getting this advice. I had someone start using a paper towel on my polished wood dining room table before I could stop her, and in just the right light conditions you can still see the evidence of the swirls made in just that few seconds on just that section.

I use it once in a while but I apply it, let it sit and dry, then spray some more on and let that dry. Then polish off with a cotton or microfiber cloth..or just a soft beach towel. Takes a lot to polish it back up but...it works a little, then it's gone..especially after the first machine wash. Sad. I only hope it helps a little on protecting the surface. Otherwise yeah...it's a waste of time and money.

My idea is to purchase the windshield attachment hardware from SuperATV https://www.superatv.com/windshield-clamp-kit
The local glass shop can drill the holes, sand the edges, and I can install it.
If I do it, I'll post the process.
Can't be that difficult!

I assume the reason the people that make them for UTVs rubber-mount them in steel frames is because of the structural twisting, impacts, jolts and what-not that thy are subjected to on the trail. Never seen glass mounted without being framed in something on a UTV.

Wow! Good Point! I've got to keep in mind that these machines are taking a lot of shock, and awe tooling along on some pretty nasty substrates!
Considering how big of a chunk of business CFMOTO has been taking from the other brands there may be a glass windshield available in the near future. (?)

Super ATV directions read not to use RainX on their flip up windshield that I installed on my Uforce 1000. I am curious why, since I have used it for many years on my plastic motorcycle windshields with great success. 

Might be because of the hard surfacing which has a smoother surface then without. And ...maybe this too- I did use it on mine only because it is a silicone-base material. I did notice that it collects way more dust then without it. That might lead to scratching more then without. Just guessing though
