I bought the 800 trail I like being able to squeeze thru tight spaces but like the stance of the ex especially lifted! I Know it would be expensive but has anyone converted a trail to an ex yet? I was already planning on buying the high clearance A arms and I know I would have to change Axles, and either inner tie rod ends or whole rackenpinion would have to be changed and possibly brake lines not sure if shocks are the same looks like there mounted in same position but haven't researched that yet! Yea I probably should have just got an ex but didn't and would loose my ass to trade! And honestly wish they made a kit in between the trail width and the ex!!

You might want to talk to rodin i think he makes kits with high clearance aarms with lift for the trail

Axles - 4 @about $250 each
brake lines - all 4
all 8 control arms - at about $100 each. 
all 4 shocks at about $350 each
Tie rods also at about 120 each

You are looking at almost 4k just for things that I know about.
I have seen this same question over and over again on here and other places.  It comes to the same thing every time.  Buy the machine that works for you.  If you have to have a 50" machine than an EX is not for you.  If you bought a Trail and didnt really need it then sell it/trade it and get an EX.  Trails dont do well lifted.  They are to narrow so if you need a lift then get an EX.

Im not trying to be a jerk but this is the reality of the world we live in.  There is no machine that is narrow, can be lifted well and converted from 50" to 60" with little effort and money.  Sorry.

I agree as well. Better off selling this one and getting one that will handle the conversions you want....or may do in the future.

I'm in no hurry to do it and was already going to get the high clearance a arms and found axles on eBay for 150

I'm thinking about buying the parts like Johnny cash one piece at a time. Not going to do it till the warranty runs out so I have awhile to gather everything

I was told that the high clearance. A Arm kits for the ex will work for the non ex models per super ATV...
wrote them a email last week.

From what I've seen they have them for the EX and the trail! No the EX a arms won't work there longer

selling 80 percent of what you need for ex conversion.  8 control arms from an ex, 4 axles one needs inner joint, rh tie rod end. left was sacrificed to the gods(torch) would recommend kryptic tie rods(beefy) they are 300 for the pair.  you may need longer brake lines?  and if you measure your shocks  eye to eye i can tell you if the there is a difference there.

Do they offer just tie rod sleeves? If not does anyone make them? For ex model?

Nope....Whole tie rod only. You cant get just the sleeve
