What have you guys done for stereos in your Zforces?
« on: May 08, 2019, 04:13:07 PM »
I'm looking for ideas for a stereo (without spending a fortune at this time).  I currently just have a small cheap bluetooth speaker, but you cannot hear it at all when moving, and the shitty battery only lasts about an hour before I need to plug it in.  Works decent when stopped but that's it.  I don't need or care for huge systems with amps/subs, just something decent with a couple speakers I can hear while driving AND easily turn up or down (this is important).  It's a bit of a pain to have to grab for my phone whenever I want to adjust the volume.  I've been looking at bluetooth speaker kits on Amazon, some that come with a remote volume knob, but now I'm just considering mounting a standard single DIN car stereo somewhere, probably one of the mechless ones because I don't need CD playability.  Obviously overhead mounting would be ideal to best keep it out of the elements, but I've been considering a way to mount one with a marine enclosure either below the switch panel or possibly in the dash area above the 12v outlet (but am verrry hesistant about taking a dremel to a month old machine!).  I'd love to see what you guys have come up with!

I am in the same boat. I have been looking myself and like you, don't want to spent a fortune on an audio system just need something basic
I've been looking at this:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/12V-Multifunction-Motorcycle-Bluetooth-Speaker-Radio-FM-Stereo-USB-MP3-Player/183788804765?fits=Make%3ACF-Moto&hash=item2acaaa9a9d:g:uXoAAOSw8uFcwwqf

it says it fits it but I don't know how good it is and how hard it is to hook up. I want something that also has FM stereo in it so this would be nice for me.

Hope this helps

I did look at that one on Amazon also and have considered trying it.  Not sure though on how well it would work or if it would be loud enough.  I don't see a spot for an FM antenna either, so it's hard to say what reception would be like.  I have Spotify and have been using that, but sometimes I just want to listen to my fave rock station on the radio, which is what I almost always use in my truck except for the times I feel like cranking up some different tunes.  I'm pretty sure we'd have to buy proper sized rollbar clamps to mount these too, most of what I've looked at are meant more for motorcycle/atv handlebars I think.  I'd be curious to know how it works if you end up buying that though!

We will see. I have other things more important I need to get first (like harnesses) before I get the sound system  :)

Hey guys, i tried that one a while back, very poor quality nowhere near the volume it needs to hear it while riding
i finally ended up with the MTXMud sys30, now thats a nice system, not a problem hearing it at any speed.

Good to know, thanks!  That sound bar looks nice, but a bit pricey.  I have been thinking about soundbars though.

I did a bit of research and ended up with MB Quarts Speakers, JL Audio AMP, and Rocketfish Bluetooth rocker switch.  Mounted the amp (weatherproof) under the drivers seat.  Wired into the aux switch.  Very happy with the sound.

I didn't want to get into wiring and drilling on my zforce so I had to look at other audio options. I went with the ecoxgear ecoboulder plus. I purchased from amazon and have been extremely happy with the speakers/stereo. It is everything they claim it to be. Rugged, dust proof, shock proof, water proof and excellent sound quality. The battery last forever on a charge and you can even charge your smart devices on it. I have it strapped in the bed of my Zforce 800 and it never comes out. I just plug it in every once in a while to charge it. The cost is around $200 and worth every penny in my humble opinion. Hope this helps.
