Just a heads up....SxS's are harder on parts no question about it. They are basically quad running gear but then you triple the weight.  So axles break easier, tires wear faster, and on and on.  Just keep that in mind when thinking about the off road budget.  I am the same way though.  I cant just leave it alone.  My wife doesnt like the amount of money I spend on the SxS at all and she doesnt go out riding with me but she will ride in it going around the property but thats about it.  So I know your pain on that.
I can imagine a world completely at peace.  A world where there are no weapons, no war, and no violence at all.  And I can imagine us taking over that world because they would never expect it.

I tell ya what .. I wised up in a hurry after my accident. After having something I loved deary taken away from me for 8 months, I learned that I needed to be cautious and never ignore my few golden rules when I rode. I avoid any hill climbs and stay out of deep mud, simply because its where you can easily break stuff, including yourself ! I also ride with my BiL and Fil, and they both keep me grounded and riding at a leisurely pace. We are all too old to go through those crazy younger riding days any more.

Yessir ! I spilled the beans on Sunday the 24th, then I've been working my tail off to do more around the house and help her out before being asked. She knows fully well that I admit to screwing up the whole situation, so I think I've gotten off lighter than what I could if I had been standoffish about what I did.

I picked it up Saturday - left the house at 5:15 and arrived on the lot at 9:15. Trip back home was a lot harder tho, as my gas mileage dropped into the single digits (we have hills here in PA, they have MOUNTAINS out there in western MD and WV) and I was really worried about how the SxS would tow. It's a lot heavier than my ATV, and my wimpy V6 just isn't cutting the mustard. The last part of my 'upgrade' was to get a V8 tow vehicle, so that will just have to wait til next year.

She and I just finished our THIRD rearrangement of the garage, and after last nights work I'm confident I have room to park this beast. Neither of us were satisfied with how it had turned out the previous two times we re-did the garage since I brought it home. Actually, when I say home, its 'home' is temporarily in my FiL's garage. I haven't even had a free evening to go work on it, but I have a slew of projects to do to it.

Im curious how you like it also.  I agree with you that towing a SxS you really need a V8.  They just weigh a lot and there is no replacement for displacement.  Sounds like you are on probation for a while with the warden/wife.....but you may be out for good behavior soon LOL.

See, this is the worst part.I won the auction a scant 2 days before my daughter competed in the Junior Olympics for swimming, so not only was I morally compelled to attend that event (it ran from Thurs-Sun that week), but I then had to ask the seller (a dealer in Mount Morris, PA, near Morgantown, WV) for an extension to pay for and pick it up. I did put 1k down, so he was cool with that, but I finally got it the following weekend. Since then, its been one thing after another after work, and we leave for the beach for a week tomorrow !! At the earliest, it will be NEXT weekend til I can go anywhere, but ohhh nooo, the kids will start school on the 18th, so that means back to school shopping that weekend. Arghhh ...

Remember how I said I was gonna be in the doghouse for a while and was doing EVERYTHING I could to help out around the house and make wifey happy ?? Well, lets just say I doubt I will get in a ride until late August, so its almost like a punishment that I have the SxS but cannot RIDE the SxS.  :(  Good news is, I am being allowed two rides in the month of September, since October we are back into full swing for swim meets, and every weekend had something going on.

Friend of mine has an ACWC 1000 and beats the livin hell out of it.  Never cleans it. And if you see him in it he will definitely be drinking.  It seems to be doing just fine. Pretty sure he could rip a wheel off and say "f" it and keep riding though. Lol

Moral of the story is that if he's ridin his like this and it's holding up, I'm sure you'll be good.
Do look into getting that cage reinforced, his friend has an ACWC trail and rolled it (drinking) but the cage did crush down and he was knocked out. He was ok, and drove it with the crushed cage forever, may even still be.  If I get a pic of it I'll post it.
Again, another ACWC getting beat and still doing ok.

Chuddly, can I get a small favor. When you get a chance, grab one of the Russian doors and drop it on a scale and let me know what it weighs. I'm needing to drop some weight and if Rodin's doors are a lot less them mine, I might move them up on the list a bit. I think my doors alone without the rest are like 23lbs each but I need to double check that.

Will do.  Ill get funny looks from my wife tonight carrying my door through the house to the bathroom to weigh it LOL....but I will get it for ya.

After my accident, I avoid those situations. Now, you can't do much when some crazy rider comes barreling down on you, but I wised up real fast after taking a 9 month 'vacation' from the hobby that I love. Even though its used, I will be going easy on this thing until I can get a good feel for its capabilities. Driving a SxS is a TOTALLY different experience than riding an ATV, and I hope my adjustment goes smoothly.

Just an FYI the doors weigh 12.2 lbs for each side (thats with the latch).  That does not count the frame which i would guess is about 10 lbs or so from memory.
