Warranty concern
« on: September 21, 2022, 12:59:41 PM »
Have 5 hours on my new 600 touring.  Parking it in my garage I noticed a 4" bolt laying on the left foot rest.
Spoke to the dealer and the conversation is that reinstalling that bolt is covered under the warranty, but strongly
implied that after 15 -20 hour break in I should bring back the machine so they can go over it and check/tighten any
loose bolts ( a dealer service charge) and apply the warranty to any major issues discovered during that check and
tighten service.  I asked the dealer if, while they have my machine, will check for any additional missing or loose hardware.
Didn't get a solid answer as I believe the dealer is holding out for tightening service to be at my expense.
Can't understand;
a)  Why a company that makes ALL TERRAIN VEHICLES can't use 50 cents of locktite or vibe-a-tight
b)  Can't grasp how a bolt that fell out of my machine at 5 hours doesn't qualify for full inspection and tightening under the warranty.

Hello!  I'm at 5 hours and hardware is falling out of my machine.  Should I opt for the inspect and tighten service now after 5 hours
or run an additional 10 - 15 hours and have the service done then?

How many CFmoto users have nuts and bolts laying across the fruited plain? and not know about it?

Appreciate any suggestions, feedback or experiences any of you have experienced.  Especially interested in HOW MANY loose items been discovered during those checks.

To any prospective buyers - I strongly urge you to write in that dealer will check and tighten all hardware after a break in period.

There are two things we suggest to every new CFM owner. One- replace the air filter with a Unifilter. And two- check and tighten all bolts and nuts on the machine..everywhere possible as there is no one area CFM doesn't leave things loose..even inside the engines, which you can't do anything about until it happens...if it does, hope the warranty will still cover it.

Never heard of a dealer offering a "Tightening Service" on any other manufacture. Just says what a problem CFM is having...which we all know about.  My suggestion-you reinstall that bolt yourself and start checking things yourself. Start with all suspension and steering-related items first then move on to components like engine and diff mounts. End with the little things like plastics and accessories.

Nmk is right check everything

The tightening service is bullshit imo

This was my list before first service
On my 2021 Uforce 1k

Cage bolts top all loose
All cage bolts loose not even past the nylon fixed but please re check

Front hood dented  can be seen in pic at delivery And Front hood centre pin was  broke

Hard to start at times have to prime pump a few times plugs Likley fouled

Alignment was off passenger tie rod was all the way out driver side no thread showing needs a proper alignment

Passager mirror disappeared on trip home

Box shock rubs on intake

Belt slipped getting on to trailer at delivery in 4x4 now it slips all the time

Steering has play in shaft an rack

Arm bolts loose one missing nut

They addressed all issues when I took in for first service an got first service free

Since then they’ve replaced my steering rack this week at 3000kms an front shock also the shift cable bracket under the seat broke an was replaced all under warranty no questions asked

Now I do have a really good dealer
I can just call an send my request to With videos an pics they have yet asked for me to bring it in to see the request
I also install all my own parts as I prefer to do it that way so I know it’s done right

In short lol if that dealer is not good try another you can go to any Cfmoto dealer for warranty work

Wow that got long quick sorry lol

Thanks for the input and the list.  Great information.  Would locktite (Blue?) be a good product to fortify this tightening routine.  Seems to me if I'm going
put in the time to check and tighten - might as well add a cure-all.  Is there a better product that can be used to hold this hardware in place?

I found 1 . . one loose bolt.
My entire machine has torque check paint on the bolt heads and nuts except for visible body mounts and such.
Except that one bolt.
