Just got mine back with new parking brake.    Smitty I see that the technician also installed your passenger side seat belt buckle backwards.   Same thing they did to me!    Also the brakes seem a bit spongy now.  THey said they bled them after install.  I bled them again and still feel a bit spongy.  Did you have this experience?

Will have to check.  However, prior to this I installed a line lock on the rear brakes( removed it prior to taking it in)  and they felt a little spongy then, so will not be able to give a valid answer.

For those still waiting for notice from CFMoto for the parking brake upgrade or running into the issue where their dealer isn't aware of the issue or can't proceed without CFMoto authorization, here's what I found out:

Dealers check the CFMoto database using the VIN number to see if the warranty issue has been authorized by CFMoto, and without that they can't get reimbursed for doing the upgrade.  CFMoto says all known affected VINs have been updated in their database, but they are also aware that there are many VINs which should have been updated which aren't.  If you call their Customer Service they don't have a way to update the database for you. What you have to do is have your dealer call their Warranty Dept to get things straightened out.  Unless the dealer is very familiar with CFMoto procedures and with this upgrade in particular, they may require that the UTV be brought in so they can verify things and take photos to communicate the issue with CFMoto Warranty though.  It appears most dealers however are now aware of this upgrade and many will go ahead and order the parts and get the upgrade started then deal with CFMoto Warranty.  So YMMV.

Was this like a recall effort by cfmoto to fix the high chance of gear linkage snapping during an incline park? Rather was the cost to you zero dollars? Asking for myself and a friend.

It's not a Safety related recall, it's classified as a "Customer Satisfaction" issue being performed at no cost to the customer under their Warranty program.  All unsold units are being upgraded prior to sale; any sold unit is eligible for the upgrade at the customer's request. The time period for having all units upgraded runs thru the end of 2024, so if a customer doesn't request it by then they'll probably have to pay to have it done after that.

I think the main reason was a lot of us that purchased the 2023's made our dissatification known.  This issue could have affected their future sales, the 2024's came with a parking brake.  I'm sure a lot of dealers who care about their customers let Cfmoto know they might have a issue.

So just got my gen2 sport back from having the parking brake kit installed. 2 questions, did they disco the park function in the tranny because of the upgrade? Now it dos y seem like I have a lark anymore it’s still free wheels in park. 2, is there an indication on the dash that tells you you have parking brake on? Nothing showed up on mine but I thought I recall seeing this in the manual.

Any help appreciated!

No indication that the parking brake is on.  After riding for a year without one made a small mistake on my first ride of the year, with the new parking brake....forgot I had applied the parking brake.  Took me about 5 sec to realize it, no harm.  Don't use the park on the transmission since it could hang-up, far as I'm concerned they can leave it off.

Agree with that - with or without the Parking Brake installed.  The manual even indicates that the transmission should not be placed in Park when trailing as it could damage the transmission.  GF forgot my warning about not putting it in Park unless it was on level ground once and we had to use the winch to take enough pressure off the transmission to get it out of Park.

I have a problem with this "disconnecting of the park function". Unless they have blocked the shifter gate from going into the "Park" position, one would have to take the engine apart to take the parking paw out...and that means a full rebuild...unless they have a way of breaking the paw itself without damaging the drum or other parts. I would converse with that dealer/shop because there is no reason to do anything with it. My gut is saying some kid at the shop slammed it into Park while moving and snapped the paw.

Has anyone else experienced a spongy brake pedal after the installation on the parking brake and new calipers?   Dealer said they bled the system and I also re-bled them twice.  Still the pedal seems spongy and travels closer to firewall.  I did the two man bleed process where one is pumping and the other is releasing at the nipple.

Never going to get all the air out doing it the conventional way on these unless you are super-human fast. It needs either power-bled or reverse/back bled.

I do have a Motive Power Bleeder I bought for my BMW car that I can try.    Do you know a source for the right size reservoir cap for these systems?
