This particular filter was suggested by the forum and it arrived yesterday. I have educated myself on oiling and cleaning procedures but I was curious if this has or was supposed to come with a cage to help it keep its shape? Or is collapse part of the game with guy under acceleration?

Nope. I have one in my airbox and was wondering that too. I felt that if and when it got caked with stuff it would collapse/get sucked-shut. Fortunately my second filter stops everything from getting to it so that never happens...and now sense I had an extra spring from a Unifilter from another project, I modified it to work in the TwinAir to be interior support. I do now however have a second concern with that steel spring as it added extra weight to the foam end and allows it to flop around some. This might, in time, have an effect on the bond between the foam and base so..JMO, trust it until it gives you a problem. Some have said there is a spring you can buy for these but I sure haven't found it.

A new air filter will be factory installed on our machines from now on.

Here is a picture and a part number. If you have the old air filter, i suggest you change it!

That filter has oïl and a structure that will prevent it to bend and let the dirt in.

But you all know that this baby is a critical maintenance item.

No engine what so ever likes to breathe-in some dirt.

the oïl in the filter will catch very thin particles.

you guys should send like a recall notice to all them poor souls that are running the old filters or have no way of getting this info ! Like the big car dealers do maybe even replace them free!!!!

Will that filter also fit the zforce 600 models?  If so it would be a great back up to my UNI filter.

No, the filter is different. I did email twin air but got nothing back. I measured mine and it is 4 3/8 Dia by 4 3/4 long closed on one end.
