Top Speed

Does anyone know what the top speed is for zforce 800 while in low gear?  We ride allot on mountain trails where you need low gear.  So it would help to know how fast I should go without shifting from low and back to high.

Although the top speed may be 35 or so close to the limiter, you don't want to sustain speeds much above say.. 15 for long periods in low range because of the effects it has on the transmission..the counter shaft (or is it the input shaft) is rotating at more then twice the normal speed making much more heat and shortening transmission bearing life..not to mention fuel milage. IMO, if the speeds are slow enough that the wet clutch engagement isn't 100%, use low..absolutely. But if the trail has you consistently maintaining speeds above 15-17...and you are not going to run into anything right away that will require low range, then by all means, use high. Just my 2-cents. :)

I'm in the mountains as well, I use a 30kmph or 18-19mph guide line. These speeds or below I will run low range, my reasoning is clutch's & drive belts. Heat will be much less as the drive belt will be further up the drive clutch sheave so you have more contact area.

If you run hi range @ these lower speeds sustained, you will eventually wear a grove in the drive clutch sheaves in the lower part. Excessive clutch & belt wear from heat & being inefficient.

Better engine braking as well in low range.
