Okay my buddy talked me into picking this thing up I got it for 7500 out the door its a 2017 with 500 miles and very clean. Did I get a good buy here? My buddy swears I did but I've never heard of these things before no one owns one of them around here.

The price is good but it going to depend on it's short previous life. If it's been run in dusty conditions with the stock air filter you could be looking at a new engine by 1000 miles. Yeah..scary.. But if it was changed to the Unifilter right away and it had it's normal maintenance...and never overheated, she's probably a keeper and no worries. I would open-up the airbox, snap a few pics and post them for us to see. The pics will need to be smaller or use the Imgur account.

Yup. Good chance you got a good deal but I'd open that airbox right away and have a look inside. My Canada 2017 Trail had a 2 stage foam filter but I'm not sure it was oiled with proper foam filter oil as it had pooled toward the low side of the filter, something proper filter oil doesn't do.
These machines are sensitive to inhaled dust and the intake point is located quite unwisely in the motor and back wheel compartment. If its short life has been low on dusty rides it'll likely be just fine. Mine still rips at 1700 miles. I did replace the filter with a properly oiled Uni.
Have fun on it.

After reading through the forums I checked the air filter already it was pretty clean, it had some mud under the mat in the back but I'm pretty sure this thing was mostly a road warrior, they are legal to drive in the town next to mine where the dealer is located. I'll post a picture when I figure out how to shrink them lol, cause I have no idea if it's the stock filter or not

This may help:

This is the stock filter that is NO GOOD in most cases. It has a steel end cap:

This is the CFM reusable foam filter that still lets dust through just not as much as the one above:

This is the TwinAir we used to recommend but sense found it is no better..or may not be as good as the reusable CFM filter above:

And this is the UniFilter we recommend:

Yes actually it does it is the blue one I'm going to buy a new one tomorrow anyways but that gives me some hope. Also to note it came still under factory warranty until April 2919

Is there anything to watch out for that will void the warranty??

Check with your dealer for service work but usually that along with modifications like larger tires, electrical additions, intake mods...ect will effect warranty. Using an air filter that has proven to be better then the CFM's like the Unifilter has not been a problem. In fact many dealers are installing them upon arrival now.

That's pretty cheap.  I would want more than that for my 16 with 400 miles.  I have a lot of extras tho

I'm glad you posted this pic.  I got the one I thought you recommended and when I opened it up and saw the outer layer was actually not glued to the cap or the inner filter I thought someone switched it with a twin air.  I think I'd like to upgrade to the longer one you show in a few posts.  Do you have a link to that one, 8 inch I think.

I'll post a link to the 5"x 8" I have but you will have to remember it comes with a 3" flange so it will have to be adapted back down to the 2.25 we have. I had bought some cheap universal filters that came with adapters that worked..and I'll post a link to one of those two. One thought though..I also have a 5x6" Uni that also has a 3" flange that I an currently using in the box. It fits better then the 8" because it requires no cutting-out of the corner plastic supports. Both are good and well oversized. The tall one in this pic is the 5x8. The one next to it is the 5x6.

In this pic the big one is the 5x8" and the other one is the standard 4x6.
