Thanks for all the help guys. I found a Polaris dealer not too far from me who also carries the Moto line. Maybe them knowing I'm going to spend money in their shop, regardless of which brand, they might give me some straight answers.

One last thing as I won't get to that shop until the weekend.

Extended warranty, how much for how long and how good is it? Is it through Moto or a 3rd party?

The one I'm considering if through RPM1. Not the best choice but my only choice. CFM doesn't have a factory ext warranty in aware of. Your dealer will have more avenues probably. Good luck.

Sounds like the Moto factory warranty is very good from the reviews I've seen. 3rd party warranty's are always hit or miss. I got a 5 year extended ( 3rd party ) with my RZR. Small stuff ( $100-200 fixes ) they would put up a fight before paying, if they did pay. I had to get the top end of the motor rebuilt at the 4 year mark, they fixed it ( $3500 ) with no hesitation.

NMKawirider,  i probably push my Z more than 99.9% of the CF owner. I have the race kit and push this machine the pedal to the floor all the Time. What parts in the ZForce is a copy on the RZR ??? NOTHING ! Not even close in design. The only know trouble is the air filter that can cause engine failure. For the bearing, just retight all wheels when you receive your machine from the dealer (poor installations at the factory). I have 4200km and i run wheel spacer at each corner and not s single play anyware. For the rear bushing its an another story but the RZR bushing are worst. The trouble with the CF is always the dealer preparation... Go on the RZR forum and the Can Am forum and you will find a LOT more trouble.

True you will find more instances of trouble with other brands, but that is also because there are probably 20 RZRs for every 1 Zforce.  So knowing the % of failure would be a good number to actually compare but good luck figuring that out.

For me from being in the SxS world for several years i dont think that CF Moto has a higher failure rate than any other manufacturer.  I think they actually have a LOWER failure rate than a few others.  Im not saying that they are the best (I personally thing Yamaha or Honda has the lowest failure rate but those 2 dont intersect very much as far as making the same products) but they are in the fight for sure.
I can imagine a world completely at peace.  A world where there are no weapons, no war, and no violence at all.  And I can imagine us taking over that world because they would never expect it.

My 2010 RZR, 30,000 miles, I'm looking to replace.

Things I've had to fix over that time.

2 sets of front brakes
1 set of rear
1 tie rod end
1 rear axle
1 starter relay
1 top end motor rebuild at 20,000 miles
1 radiator cap
1 12v aux
1 radiator return hose
1 air box assembly

Not too bad stretched over 6.5 years. If the Moto is close to this, I'll be happy.

I'd like to hear from any and all our members on who has the highest miles/kilometers on their machine and what if any failures occurred within those miles/kilometers. I only have a little less then 900 miles but no major failures..some minor.. mostly suspension bushings, exhaust springs, mirrors, seat base rubbers and some brake issues but classified as failures. The rest..so far so good.

That's pretty impressive. Personally I don't think you will get that kind of longevity out of a CFmoto. I could be wrong, but My opinion has been tainted by my experience thus far.

30000 miles out of an offroad vehicle is quite impressive.  With only those parts replaced its almost unbelievable.  I have about 1000 miles on mine.  Here is my list of carnage.

1 Set Front Brakes
1 Set Rear Brakes
1 Tie Rod (I hooked a tree, it was my fault.)
1 Winch Cable (I broke the cable by making a pull with a knot in the wire, my fault.)
1 Rear Wheel Bearing
1 Air Filter

I do anticipate having to change suspension bushings in the next year or two.  Everything seems to be wearing at the same rate as my Polaris.  Just my .02

I've been keeping up with this thread but hadn't commented until I seen NMK's request on comments from higher mileage cf moto units. Now keep in mind the Zforce 800 only been around since I think 2014 so comparisons are hard vs units been around for a long time. I have 2015 800EX with over 5000 miles. Now to see full list of my problems read the 800ex section under mileage and problems at the top. I should probably be the most negative of all owners but I'm not (so far). Yes I had engine failure at 1975 miles, however I had not found this website yet and was still running stock filter. Covered 100% Warrany. This was at 5 months so yes I ride a lot. At about 10 months my chains and tensioners wore out, now that was covered 100% as well. I believe that me running for long periods of time on blacktop may have did it, I don't know that for sure but have had some people say to run full throttle for extended periods could cause some of these problems. Had about 3400 miles then. Had dealer check everything out since my warranty was getting ready to run out. They removed my clutches to look at and I don know for sure but think they installed all back with impact and when I got it back my one way brg and wet clutch failed. However they covered 100% again.  Now since my warrany ran out I have driven somewhat different and accumulated about 1700 miles with very few problems except wheel bearings and general maintenance. Cf Moto usa only gives one year but they cover 100% no question as long as you have a good dealer. Listen guys wheel bearings are general maintenance in my opinion due to how much water we are in in this area. Goingdeep I see you are in TN so your riding is probably close to mine in eastern KY. Now let me tell you that you were very lucky with your 30,000 miles with only problems you listed ( I didn't see belt ) WOW!!!  I ride with a lot of Polaris and won't get 1000 mile on belts.  I will say I have extra belt but still running original belt at 5000 mile, pretty good. Also a lot of the other small issues the other forum members have had I have not such as shocks and the radiator switch, my fan has worked flawlessly so far. I guess you will find good and bad in any brand, I believe the more research you do up front on what not to do will help as much as what to do. I saw that the riding you are going to do is going to be more leisurely now. For the price you should be okay as long as you maintain your unit, change air filter to UNI before you ride first time!!!!

When I wrote my reply yesterday I knew I'd forgot something. As I stated earlier in the thread, I installed a Mudder Clutch kit to turn my heavy 30" Terminators. That was after I blew 2 belts from the heat. ( over time )  The kit came with a super heavy duty belt with larger "fins" to circulate more air inside the belt drive. That was in 2012, and MANY thousands of miles ago. lol

If the weather permits, I'm going to the dealer Saturday for a test drive of the Moto.
